Very possibly, I think we just caught the tail of it here- rain wasn't prolonged (just wet!) e2a:- looking at the NW radar the squall line raked right the way along the N. Norfolk coast...
That passed close to my NW- no precip. faint thunder heard, looked very unstable around it's downdraft base- fantastic cloud structure! Edit to add- another cell developing SSW of me!
Showers initiated here in Norwich mid-morning after a clear start. Cloud development was very rapid- from tiny scraps of Fractus to full blown Cbs in about 3 hours! Thunder first heard approx. 30 minutes ago... now watching for the next cell!
Sunny intervals with large Cumulus & occasional areas of Stratocumulus-
Wind light SW
Temp 28 C
Pressure 1012.5 hPa falling
Really beautiful day here in S. Norwich- only the faintest chance of a shower I feel...
Sustained TS here in Norwich for about the last 2.5 hrs, moderately electrified with heavy rain.
Now moving away to E, Sun out again in NW. Result- rainbow!
Looks really good and conveys the flow of the weather well; the slider bars on the maps are excelllent!
I still have a niggle with this site (& the MetO) though- the nearest obs site for Norwich is RAF Marham which is 50 km NW of here!
I can't believe that they can't use data from Norwich Weather Centre...
