    It maybe a radar error because on Rain today they disappear at 17:50 then reappear for one 5 minute segment before going completely but when I pan out they disappear from everywhere at the same time even over Scotland so somethings not right. having said that...no sign of any snow here

    Something weird is happening with the rain today radar. It was showing loads of showers going to hit Manchester about now and then suddenly they all totally disappeared I dont know if it was faulty when it was showing the showers and now its correct or it was correct and its just developed a fault

    Looks promising on raintoday radar for around lunchtime provided it canmake it over the hills

    Just tiny flakes in Chorlton and hardly anything overnight. Hopefully some more around lunchtime but I fear the South manchester snow shield has been activated.

    loooks like there will be showers for the next couple of hours on raintoday radar but not much after that for a a few hours at least. Still...pretty good for South Manchester. This is turning out better than I expected

    Maybe 2cm here in south manchester. Im happy with that but sounds like other usually less favoured places have got more which is great. Still chances for more snow over the next few days i think and Friday Saturday is still unpredictable.

    Well its only my interpretation from rain today radar and meteo radar. The band of showers look on track to be passing just north of Manchester. Latest forecast on tv say different however so dont get your hopes up on my account

    The snow for the early hours looks like it might miss Manchester to the North according to radar. North of region could do well

    Well you can all relax!!! My brother has just asked me to go to Zermatt with him Wednesday till Saturday night. It always snows when Im away so unless i break the hoodoo its absolutely guaranteed to snow here later in the week (even if its not forecast yet!) If not Ill bring you all some back

    Yep same in chorlton. Snow in city centre but just slushy hail here. Oh well maybe tomorrow

    Ok ..hands up which one of you told friends or family that it was going to snow? Remember the golden rule...any talk of snow MUST remain in this thread. Any loose talk jinxes the snow. We all know that

    I know everyone says the apps are useless but in my experience when they say rain, it rains. Mind you when they say snow here...it rains lol. One thing that is really puzzling me is that the met office has me down for rain all week BUT it also has the wind as south easterly all week. That surely cant be right can it?

    If the GFS was correct then yes we should be under a warning for our area but I dont think the met office use the GFS so maybe that explains the lackof warnings as their own models are seeing things differently.? Id be more excited if the Beeb or met were suggesting snow. I think we might soon get a warning for strong winds though (and heavy rain ) Nothings certain however and at least there is still a chance

    Well it certinly looks like an exciting period oming up for our region. Unfortunately for me I think its probably just going to be cold wet and windy here in Chorlton but probably anyone with any elevation will see lots of snow. net result for me will be Ill be one of the few who is working with most of my colleagues stuck in snow in Stockport and Broadbottom. Ah well a week of 12 hour shifts to look forward to

    Listening to the radio at lunch time and john Kettley was on talking about storm Eleanor. When he was asked about what we should be expecting in the next few weeks he mentioned the cold spell which is being discussed in the model output thread but then he went on to say that they were expecting another big storm to hit in about 10 to 12 days time. Its unusual to make such a bold prediction for our small island so far out dont you think?

    Woke up at 5am ..looked out and saw rain. Got up at 9am still rain. have been reading through the posts from other South Manchester folk and read that they got a little bit of snow for a while but here in the ultimate snow dome of Chorlton...absolutely nothing...nada....zilch. At least I wasnt really expecting anything this time

    Met office app now shows only rain here in chorlton. Previously we had an hour of snow. Another last minute downgrade

    No sign of the usual correction southwards of the snow zone for tomorrow so far. Maybe theres still time....

    So Ive been watching football all afternoon so Im not up to date with how our region fared in the end. It sounds like some of you got a bit of snow at least. Here in south Manchester weve got nothing on the ground we have just had really light snizzle for most of the afternoon. How has everywhere else got on?
