  1. I really want an early winter like 2010! November is much easier to cope with when the weather isn't 7-12C and drizzling, 0C and snow will suit fine
  2. Just had amazing two clear blue sky warm days, but very much looking forward to Autumn and things getting colder towards Winter. I am most definitely a coldie, and the most anticipating times are coming up in the transitionary season of Autumn, I have no prospects or forecasts at the moment, but I am wishful of an active season, which is traditionally autumnal.
  3. Some torrential downpours going on at the minute, stop and start. Had 3 rumbles of thunder before this weather came in
  4. FLOOD! A plant pot is flooded! In my garden Hahahha That orange warning was useful I was prepared for the shock :')
  5. I'm going to assume we'll all be getting woke up then haha
  6. So are we expecting any thunder within the band...Or just thereafter in showers?
  7. GFS has 57mm of rain for my location, I imagine even more for others, canny deluge!
  8. I actually don't mind the climate here, although I would prefer to be further inland. Away from the threat of north sea cloud, but still in the influence of any north sea showers in the winter. Don't like it too cold for too long or too hot for too long so i'm fairly happy. Besides the weather in the UK always keeps us interested!
  9. Had a torrential shower yesterday afternoon, with a rumble of thunder before. Apparently Morpeth got a canny lashing from a preceding shower. Nice and sunny out there today, although i'm cowering inside after picking up some sort of bug in Mexico
  10. I'm not flying back till Wednesday morning, make sure to take some photos of the action I'm likely to miss out on tomorrow! Although I hope it's gone by the time I land around 7am ish on wed, could be a bumpy landing :|
  11. Got as high as 27.6C here today, a scorcher indeed for the likes of Jarrow Unfortunately this weather is sending my hay fever into overdrive so i can't exactly enjoy it! Hahah I'm away on holiday on Tuesday but this sort of weather looks to extend well past then, I imagine everything will be looking a tad more brown when I return
  12. Just heard the thunder from that but didn't see the lightning.... some very torrential downpours in the last few hours here
  13. The only time i've ever seen anything like it was in Mexico in 2011, and that's saying something when it's in the tropics and the storm built up over the Caribbean sea! But it still didn't have the same look about it as here with the sky going jet black and all.
  14. Hey guys, hell of a lot of rain fell here yesterday as you all know. Filled up an entire field near the dual carriageway going over York Avenue, and under the metro bridge the flood water ran onto the road - which I nearly drove into a tad fast! (oops). The deluge has got me reflecting on last year, where our own north east 'superstorm' came late June. We're half way through May now and am wondering what/if any storms we may encounter this year. I wonder what the chances are of us having of a severe storm at the same intensity of the couple we had in 2012 again, or even the quantity of storms. I only have the past few years of taking notice of the weather, but to me it does indeed seem like its getting 'weirder', I wonder if any of the older members would agree.
  15. Looks a bit threatening... http://instagram.com/p/Yktg1SCLPH/
  16. The forum has appeared to have changed since i've been away, your comment about thunder must have attracted me back Alza. With Summer approaching, warm days and hopefully some thunder will not be too far away, and us weather enthusiasts will have something to be excited about again
  17. Just got back home now, on way back noticed how much more there was towards Keswick way. The scenery was unbelievable on the way home when the sun finally came out and lit up the white mountains. Stunning. Can't believe on the drive in we didn't even know the mountains were there as visibility was 0! Back to reality now like!
  18. Been snowing all day here in Bowness, not lying though although it is very cold with the iPhone temperature reading -2 currently, don't know where that station is though. We all had our fair share of dramas getting here including my cousin getting stuck twice and having to get rescued twice - don't ask lmao
  19. It was the A66 towards Keswick which was the worst, though the snow plows and gritters were gan along it so not sure it might be alright now
  20. Just got to the lakes, decided to go A69, it was fine until we got to M6 then started snowing. By the time we turned off towards Keswick it was really thick and snow drifting of the fields onto the road. Car in front of us got stuck and had to push it! Was like nothing I've experience as a blizzard of drifting snow was blowing against me lmao.
  21. Might be a last minute decision to go along the A69 further north like, don't fancy getting all the way down to see the gates closed!
  22. You're fairly near the A66 Gav, how likely do you think it's going to end up closing tomorrow? We're due to leave Tyneside at around 11.
  23. Still peeking through the clouds here in Jarrow
  24. Bowness, like literally next to Lake Windermere
