Has been gorgeous on the Wolds this week after the heavy snow on Monday and none has gone from the trees or hedges. However, the breeze has just picked up in the last half hour and really started to blow things around. Rather than the heavy showers of earler, it's been persistent snow for about an hour now, but nowhere near as heavy as it was. No complaints from here though.
And Adam, if you're really that concerned - move! I was brought up in Cornwall and you have no idea how frustrating that was. Been in Yorkshire over 20 years and have chosen my locations very carefully. Lived in Penistone for 8 years and been here nearly 10 and they are both prime spots for snow, look at the reports.
-
Think we're going to start losing the intensity from the showers with the front advancing now.
-
Had a number of heavy showers moving through which have added 4-5 cm of additional snow today.
-
That was a heavy shower, added a couple of cm's and the road is looking very dodgy. Light snow still falling temp -1.3, DP -3.
-
Heavy snow shower now and the wind picking up as well.
-
Slight change in wind direction pushing showers further in now. Just started snowing again.
-
Working from home today.
Showers starting to move in, having a light shower now.
-
i woudnt worry, your area will be blasted tom chief
Not too much, need to get to Hillsborough on Saturday.
-
What a disappointment, showers dying out moving inland. Started with moderate snow, but is fizzling out.
-
Snow showers have arrived here, will update later.
-
Minimum last night -11.1, which was not as low as anticipated as it was -10 at 11 pm, but some cloud spread in from the coast before dawn. Chop Gate was reporting -13.7 earlier and Duggleby was -11.9, but may have caught the cloud like us.
-
Went down to -5.8 early in the evening, but up to -3.3 now. The bonus was a few more snow showers coming through, nothing too heavy but the car is covered again. As has been mentioned, a change in direction of the showers now, so not sure if we'll get any more.

have you a link?.thanks

Been interesting driving over to Preston today to see how much snow there is and at what altitude.
Another 1 to 2 cm overnight and another 1 cm or so from showers today. Have to say the Wolds look absolutely stunning at the moment.
Reached 0.3 which was disappointing after a min of -4.7 and back down to -3 now.
-
A few snow showers this evening added another 1 cm to the total, but that's it for a while. Surprised at some of the temps being mentioned, max here today -0.1 and now -1.4.
-
Just been out to clear the snow off the car and the drive and there's easily 11 cm on the grass, which was quite surprising. But it's fluffy stuff so hasn't settled down at all. With there being no frost before there's only about 6 cm on the paths and wet underneath so easy to clear before it freezes.
Even though the front has cleared through, there's been persistent heavy snizzle not showing on the radar which has covered the car again. Currently -0.6 reached a max of -0.1. Looking to the North and east now for the snow to come back, it's not far away.
-
If you look at the latest radar, some showers on the back edge over Redcar/Middlesbrough are moving in from a NNE direction. Could this be a sign?
-
Still snowing and a good 7cm, but that back edge is getting far too close for my liking. Will it pivot?
-
We had a bit more than expected overnight, around 2,5 cm and light snow started midday. Has been slowly getting heavier in the past half hour, but looks like a bit of a disappointment further West.

Just checked the min last night and it was 0.6c, how amazing, nearly an air frost!!!! At 2300 when it was around 4c I was thinking how sad it really was. My wife said she thought it was sleet when she went out in the car at 0930, but not really so sure about that.
Anyway, with nothing more exciting to talk about concerning anything wintry, Merry Christmas to all you weather nuts and to all those praying the rain stays away, I hope you get what you wish for.
-
Just reached 30mm since midnight. Watching the radar there's been a slightly heavier band sat over us for much of the afternoon and evening.
-
Sheffield Wednesday....."oo ar they"
Massive - but like the failure in the models at the moment, unfortunately. Poor attempt to get back on track.
-
I know some are complaining, but we've had 7 days with sleet or snow falling (2 of those were sleet) and 3 with snow lying this month. Sounds a bit better than reality, as there was only one decent snow fall and I'm not counting lying snow today when there was snow on top our hill but we just had a little frozen slush, but there was a dusting across the Wolds tops.
Not a bad start in my book. Forgot to mention October as well, or have I gone too far?
-
A frozen slushy bit of snow around this morning. A light cover of snow on the top of the Wolds and a surprising amount on the roads. With the frost around it's hard to tell at what altitude the snow cover starts.

Look at it carefully, starts around Scarborough Northwards (ie just North of here), but they've left a small gap between the orange and the yellow - poor peeps!!!
