Really depends on what weather station you have. Most of the range have an option for changing between metric and imperial measurements, (pressure readings, rainfall, wind speed/force etc). This can often be done on the 'base' station or via software installed on your computer. What model have you got?
I dont know the model I have got, but it can be connected to the computer. Need to find the lead to do this lol. Thank you very much for you time.

Divide by 8 multiply by 5 so 106 kmh = 66.25 mph
Thank you very much. Better get the calculator out for this next bought of winds. Do you think then that I should buy a new station that displays in MPH for ease of viewing, if you know what I mean.

Just to explain that. The council planted old xmas trees to stabalize the beach much to the outrage of the locals. The wind has uprooted many and they are now touring the town. Joking aside of course this is quite dangerous. Another fine mess you've got me into Ollie.
Lol reminds me of a Christmas Doctor who where the Christmas trees came to life.

Evening All ....
Does anyone know if it is possible to change Kmh to Mph on a weather station. Topped 106 kmh in a squall line last weekend so wondering what that was in mph.

Well well well, I was looking forward to going to the sea front tomorrow to watch old mother nature (from a safe distance of course), but looks like I'll be stuck in a Maternity unit in Poole, as my wife is being induced, I asked if it could be put off until Thursday but apparently that comment is frowned upon..... how selfish.
So stay safe everyone and enjoy the ride if you can.
No doubt I'll be posting in here for the foreseeable at 1am, 3am, 5am in the coming weeks.
Best of luck tomorrow .....
You will see more weather than you thought for a few years ahead when the baby comes. Sleepless nights

NoNo the dog chocolate..and that didn't even work, not even saying Walkies lol, and it not raining now but she not budging from my pillow Least it will be warm when i get to bed..who needs hotwater bottles..just hailstorm and dog on pillow scared
Hi There,
I have two dogs and they sleep in the hallway, one of them does not stir at the worst of the weather, and the new one hates all loud noises, as I found out last night when we had one hell of the hail storm at 5.15 am she came up the stairs and was wining at the bedroom door. Hubby would not have been amused if I let her on the bed. She went back down to her bed after a few mins. So very interested that your dog does not like the hail storms either.

Apparently others on other forums on here are saying the same thing about snow tomorrow. I WONDER !!!!

Afternoon Folks,
Been out and about this morning and only a breeze to be had. Been back home in Bristol since 1 pm and the wind has really got its skates on. Front page of a paper said 80 mph winds to batter Scotland? Well how about this 1.15pm gust of 62.1 another of 70.1 at 2.15 pm and as I am typing 2.40pm "82.1". Gusts are almost constant. Best gust so far 14.42 gust of 84.6mph There was no warning of these winds at all. Wind has only been going since 1.15pm and is only getting worse.

Never mind snow! if you have a look at charts for Sunday's into Monday's approaching storm on the "Atlantic Storm Thread", some people will be needing to take precautions yet again. It looks very nasty indeed and Scotland and the SW are going to be in the firing line once again. The isobars are so tight that they just look like one big white blob.

Here we gooooooooooooooooooooooo
Thats a lovely wedge of high pressure across the GIN.
Something at last for us long suffering coldies to get our teeth into ..
Gonna need a GIN and sedatives if that lot comes off LOL

THATS IT, i am writing off 2013 !!!
Why would you write off 2013? Just because over the last few years we have had snow in and around December does not mean that we are going to get it every year. In years gone by I can remember damp and dull Christmas's, not even a frost, and not even any snow in the New Year. At least we can say like 'one member' said we have had a memorable Christmas in more way than one, with the flooding and gales, and we will be talking about it years to come. I'm sure if by the end of February we have not had any snow, then I will then say that the winter has not been to the "coldies" liking. There has been plenty to talk about on here anyway, certainly not boring at all. Give it a chance. Happy New Year to you All

My Baro was reading 955.4 at about 6.45 it has dropped to 981.4. It is dropping very steadily. The wind has picked up to with gusts ranging from 15-20 mph. I am wondering what sort of reading to expect when the storm front is very close by. Not sure if this is possible for anyone to judge. Still learning you see.
-
Thank you so much, thought this storm was going to be a none starter after a lot of hype, like the last one, Bristol was supposed to have been in the firing line with that one and we had nothing note worthy. So fingers crossed then. A noisy night then. Pressure 987.5 at moment will keep an eye on it over the next couple of hours. Only 15.3 mm of rain here today also. Lets see what occurs
-
Hi Guys,
Only had 37.5 mph winds today. I really thought they were going to be a lot worse, even tied stuff down in the garden. Am I correct in believing there is worse to come this evening?
-
Had a downpour in Bournemouth at about 2:30, but nothing much, seems we are fairly quiet here today in the build up for tomorrow.
Take extra care everyone tomorrow, It's Christmas! Don't take this storm for granted, I think this will be more severe in its widespread nature than the last storm(St.Judes?) A lot of rain and the winds will be pretty severe and much more prolonged than the before mentioned storm.
So many people travelling.
Just been on 'possible storm' forum and it now seems that the storm is now splitting into two, with 930mb in both centres. I really don't know what to make of this as to how bad the situation is going to get.
-
Can someone tell me when approximately are these winds supposed to be hitting the SW (Bristol) on Monday. I would like to have my daughter back home in one piece for Christmas.
-
Hi Guys,
Atlantic lows seem to be struggling to get in next week, on my phone app it has SW down for snow on monday. Main thread seems very hesitant to call off the cold, as some models have changed back to the cold scenario. Alot the changes still ahead with the models. I do realise though any snow will be very short lived unless a total "in the freezer" situation came into play. Missing the rain though, that said any weather is better than this cold and grey boring stuff.

I see your point, act in haste repent at leisure, what a way to repent though. LMFAO hope to hear from you again?
-
ABSOLUTELY Brilliant - what a cracker, glad I did not miss this on, you should have picked April 1st for April fools day. They better beware! I have never laughed so much at the forum. Some dont have a sense of humour do they. Your such a bad boy one up to the SW thread.

Afternoon People,
Oh my lord! Just watching BBC news and the floods are absolutely unbelievable. Showed pictures of water bubbling up through the tarmac and even though some houses are up off of the road level under their floors have now filled up with water and its coming out under the carpets. Showed a map of all the places affected and it is much further wide spread than the SW. TOTALLY GOB SMACKED. SPEACHLESS my heart goes out to the people.
