  1. Afternoon People,

Oh my lord!  Just watching BBC news and the floods are absolutely unbelievable.  Showed pictures of water bubbling up through the tarmac and even though some houses are up off of the road level under their  floors have now filled up with water and its coming out under the carpets.  Showed a map of all the places affected and it is much further wide spread than the SW.  TOTALLY GOB SMACKED.  SPEACHLESS Posted Image my heart goes out to the people.

  2. Really depends on what weather station you have. Most of the range have an option for changing between metric and imperial measurements, (pressure readings, rainfall, wind speed/force etc). This can often be done on the 'base' station or via software installed on your computer. What model have you got?

I dont know the model I have got, but it can be connected to the computer.  Need to find the lead to do this lol.  Thank you very much for you time.

  3. Well well well, I was looking forward to going to the sea front tomorrow to watch old mother nature (from a safe distance of course), but looks like I'll be stuck in a Maternity unit in Poole, as my wife is being induced, I asked if it could be put off until Thursday but apparently that comment is frowned upon.....Posted Image how selfish.

So stay safe everyone and enjoy the ride if you can.

No doubt I'll be posting in here for the foreseeable at 1am, 3am, 5am in the coming weeks.Posted Image

    Best of luck tomorrow .....

You will see more weather than you thought for a few years ahead when the baby comes. Posted Image  Sleepless nightsPosted Image

    Hi There,

I have two dogs and they sleep in the hallway, one of them does not stir at the worst of the weather, and the new one hates all loud noises, as I found out last night when we had one hell of the hail storm at 5.15 am  she came up the stairs and was wining at the bedroom door.  Hubby would not have been amused if I let her on the bed. She went back down to her bed after a few mins. So very interested that your dog does not like the hail storms either.

  5. Afternoon Folks,

Been out and about this morning and only a breeze to be had.  Been back home in Bristol since 1 pm and the wind has really got its skates on.  Front page of a paper said 80 mph winds to batter Scotland?  Well how about this 1.15pm gust of 62.1 another of 70.1 at 2.15 pm and as I am typing 2.40pm "82.1".  Gusts are almost constant. Best gust so far 14.42 gust of 84.6mph Posted Image  There was no warning of these winds at all.  Wind has only been going since 1.15pm and is only getting worse.Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image

  6. THATS IT, i am writing off 2013 !!!

Why would you write off 2013?  Just because over the last few years we have had snow in and around December does not mean that we are going to get it every year.  In years gone by I can remember damp and dull Christmas's, not even a frost, and not even any snow in the New Year.  At least we can say like 'one member' said we have had a  memorable Christmas in more way than one, with the flooding and gales, and we will be talking about it years to come. I'm sure if by the end of February we have not had any snow,  then I will then say that the winter has not been to the "coldies" liking. There has been plenty to talk about on here anyway, certainly not boring at all.  Give it a chance.  Happy New Year to you AllPosted Image

  7. Thank you so much,  thought this storm was going to be a none starter after a lot of hype, like the last one, Bristol was supposed to  have been in the firing line with that one and we had nothing note worthy.  So fingers crossed then.  A noisy night then.  Pressure 987.5 at moment will keep an eye on it over the next couple of hours.  Only 15.3 mm of rain here today also.  Lets see what occursPosted Image

  8. Had a downpour in Bournemouth at about 2:30, but nothing much, seems we are fairly quiet here today in the build up for tomorrow.

Take extra care everyone tomorrow, It's Christmas! Don't take this storm for granted, I think this will be more severe in its widespread nature than the last storm(St.Judes?) A lot of rain and the winds will be pretty severe and much more prolonged than the before mentioned storm.

    So many people travelling.

Just been on 'possible storm' forum and it now seems that the storm is now splitting into two, with 930mb in both centres. I really don't know what to make of this as to how bad the situation is going to get.

  9. Hi Guys,

Atlantic lows seem to be struggling to get in next week, on my phone app it has SW down for snow on monday. Main thread seems very hesitant to call off the cold, as some models have changed back to the cold scenario. Alot the changes still ahead with the models. I do realise though any snow will be very short lived unless a total "in the freezer" situation came into play. Missing the rain though, that said any weather is better than this cold and grey boring stuff.
