  1. Evening to all who are left. It's like the Mary Celest on here. cc_confused.gif I would have thought with the 'storm' occurring on Sunday this thread would be alive, but alas no. Seems only the snow brings everyone out. Perhaps Matt has gone surfing.excl.gif Anyway been very gusty here this afternoon, great listening to it howl over the roof. Looking forward to Sunday with a little intrepidation thoughdoh.gif

  2. What ever is going on with our weather. Sunday is supposed to be the day when we are getting some very low pressure, strong winds and rain was hinted at yesterday, (obvioulsly if the low does hit us then it could be alot worse, but BBC dont want to panic folks yet). Not snow! I was getting myself hyped up for some exciting weather with regards to the wind and rain. Considering we had sleet and snow here on Tuesday and did it not come to fruition, only looked pretty, so I thought that was going to be the scenario until next winter.wallbash.gif

  3. Evening Matt,

Surely there will be some good swell at sea for the surfing then with all the rain. I dont know if you have ever gone on Metcheck (prob a swear word on hear) and look into next week say for Bristol my area, and they are showing the cold is still with us till at least the 10th March, sleet and snow showing for all of that week, and no sign of any mild temps.

  4. Thanks for that Mat,

Would'nt it be great if we had a direct hit, that wouldl make a change from the North and the East getting the big stuff. yahoo.gif I would say that that would have a given us a great end to this winter, but over the past 9 nine years that I remember we have had snow around the begining of March, that is since I had my daughter she has seen snow every year but one around her birthday the 5th of March. So we are not out of the woods as yet as they say. I must admit I bet it is wonderfull seeing the moors covered in snow. Love that part of the country, thinking of moving down that way in a couple of years. Move out of the smoke to a quieter pace of life as they say.drinks.gif

  5. Can anyone tell me please as I am a new learner? nea.gif As the cold snap is coming from an Easterly and I have read it is moving more southerly what does that mean in terms of SW being in line for very cold weather and snow. yahoo.gif I have read and understood that the snow amount is not possible to forecast until hours before it happens though , but I would be interested to know as I did go out and get extra food before the last lot of snow fell as we were unable to get out for a few days, but after the snow started to thaw the supermarkets were out of the basics (because people were not prepared or did hear in time). as I followed what everyone was saying on here I was prepared.

  6. With the excitment growing with the model outputs looking more to a snowy spell again, can anyone confirm if the charts do come off what temps we are looking because with the GFS+144 posted by Paul B shows some very deep blues and as a beginner on here I'm not sure what temps we are looking, but i'm sure if it is very cold. cc_confused.gif
