Being on high ground would not help you in this scenario except above 500 m when you are above the warm layer anyway. above and below this the atmosphere is conducive.

Is there anything this region can’t achieve? This world will do anything to stop the NW receiving the snow. Time to move!

Despite it still being below freezing, the sun is having absolutely no trouble melting the snow and ice. Probably for the best now anyway, roads and paths are lethal

Met Office now bring the clear skies forward to 3pm. I just can’t see it, large band of cloud pushing northwards. It’s been so poorly reliable this cold spell.
