  1. I would say it'll probably go the way of most of today's snow. That is across E Dorset and Wiltshire area. With maybe the odd flurry towards the W of that.
  2. So close, and yet so far. (though I really shouldn't complain after te last 24 hours)
  3. That stream of showers coming NNE is just missing me but it must be giving a good covering to everyone in the Ilminster area and between here and Bristol. Bristol could benefit from this, and the mendips must be getting another good pasting.
  4. Right - back from snow ball fights, building snowmen and beer in the pub  Now snowing quite heavily. Looking at the radar there is quite a line of showers coming up from the SSW. Starting to lie on the hard surfaces that had melted in the sun. Still loads of snow in the shade and on the soft surfaces, and the temp has dropped quite quickly in the last hour. I feel the luckiest big kid ever
  5. I feel for you mate. Usually Yeovil is a snowless zone but we seem to have had some of the best falls of the region - over 5 inches. So close yet so far.
  6. In about 20 minutes or so. See if you can hold out asking again until then.
  7. What's coming up off the channel is pretty patchy so it's hit and miss, but the main chunk of weather out to our SE is slowly moving this way and might just get this far before it all goes N.
  8. Snowing again, though lightly. Looks like plenty of echos coming from the channel that are strengthening as they make landfall.
  9. Just thought I'd try and get to work - couldn't even get the car out of the parking space as I live on a hill! Anyway, the echos to our West are rotating up into South Wales. It's what's coming in from the English Channel we should keep an eye on: I got one of those echos this morning at it was quite heavy. As the people in Poole/Bournemouth will testify. They are travelling NE at the moment but will start to come from a S-ly direction.
  10. Had about anoter 1cm in the last hour! Clear skies again now. Chuffing cold, -2.6c up from -5c at 6am.
  11. Looks like it carried on snowing until about 1am! Have looked out of the window and it must be at least 5 inches deep. It was 4 at 11pm last night. Haven't looked at any forecasts yet this morning, though the BBC 5 day now has a heavy snow for Yeovil! Looking forward to radar watching again today
  12. Yeah, it's spiralling right around my house at the moment.
  13. Yep, loads of the stuff, and still going. Could have at least another hour of it too
  14. I wish I could save the NW radar animation! It's just amazing to watch it rotate around Yeovil. I've never seen weather do this over me, well, not in the last 5 years of using NW. The last time I saw this much snow here must have been back in the eighties!! Going to be an interesting commute tomorrow.
  15. Actually, the more I look at it the more I'm inclined to say it could be around for more then a few hours yet. Not necessarily heavy, but consistent. Even though it looks like the rotation will bring the South edge of the ppn back over us, i.e. no more snow, or the rotation will just bring whatever is in the West back over us. Very difficult to tell at the moment.
  16. It's still rotating around yeovil and still coming down steadily. It's been -1.1c for the last 3 hours here! I reckon I might have another hour or so worth of snow from this and then it's hoping the rotation brings in more showers later in the night.
  17. I think Yeovil has become the centre of the pivot with the weather going South to the West of me and the weather to the East is starting to go North. So as the weather goes North it should start to rotate around towards Bristol. I wish I could show you the NW radar animation of the last hour then you'd be able to see it happening. It's been snowing here for about 2 1/2 hours and has now accumulated to about 3-4 inches
  18. To try and answer all of the will it won't it snow in Bristol comments.... The rotation around the low in the English channel has now brought the snow over me as far south as it's going to come. As the low moves NE the rotation will continue but the snow will then start to move NNE away from me in Yeovil towards Bristol. Maybe.....
  19. Has been very heavy for about an hour. Added about 3-4cm. Lighter now but more to come. It seems to be weakening as it passes Yeovil but there is a line moving SW which is to my NW that is coming in your direction. Oh, and Australia won the 1975 Rugby League World Cup!
  20. It's not a freebie but it's only £3.49 for 1 months access (other options available) http://www.netweather.tv/index.cgi?action=...ype=radar;sess=
  21. Lots of big fat flakes falling now and starting to cover ground that was wet and hadn't taken snow all day It looks like it might last a while as well.
  22. That looks great. Would luv to see a higher quality version.
  23. Snow has gone light again. It did add about 1cm on top of the lying snow but didn't really cover bare ground. It'll be interesting to see what this area of showers does our East. It seems to be weakening as it comes closer though but it's very difficult to tell exactly where the heavy snow is going to go. At the moment it seems to be turning more SW but still coming this way.
