  1. Storms just grazed past the Malverns. Don't think any strike was closer than a mile away. Insane amount of lightning, flash after flash illuminated the sky to the north and east of here. Pity our position on the west side of the hill obscured what must have been an amazing view to the East! We did get some torrential rain for a short period. Glad some of you had such amazing shows. :)

I think the Malvern Hills are a geographical feature storms like to go around rather than right over, or at least that's been my experience having lived here for 8 years. Last time there was an amazing storm, again it was just to our north and east. Why Shropshire misses out I've no idea, though, it's turned into the Bermuda Triangle for storms.

  2. The wind is howling so much I can't sleep. Wonder if there will be fence panels missing in the morning, it really is roaring here. Really longing for some milder Spring weather.

Edit: And one panel's ripped away. Sigh.

  3. Average depth is 13.5cm  now with light snow still falling. Thick fog since 2030 yesterday evening and the temp' according to the Davis on the roof mast, is -0.2c.

Party at TM's tonight, folks! Bring a sled!

Still cloaked in hill fog here, rain's stopped now. 3.7oC currently.

  4. Really surprised at this based on your elevation.....maybe just the wrong time of day or wrong side of the Airmass perhaps....?

Possibly. Am waiting on the next blob on the radar heading our way. Hope that'll be a bit nicer.

  5. Better news from here now: it's pepped up just a little and is now back to pure snow, with medium-sized flakes. Still only light, but just beginning to settle on grass and the colder/drier parts of the road.

Luckier than we are! It started with light rain, grew sleety, then stopped. There's just a damp surface on the road and a few white granules sprinkled on paths and grass.
