  1. Gone really black over Nottingham again, maybe we are starting to get a stream come through
  2. Dark clouds suddenly bubbling up in Nottingham, could we finally join in with the rest of Notts
  3. Forget the west Midlands how about sending some further south to Nottingham LOL, Nothing worse than hearing how well North Notts are doing just up the road, without doubt jealous
  4. Sadly the Nottingham snow shield is in full affect today, bright blue skys albeit cold
  5. Well the Cheshire Gap worked its magic on the City of Nottingham, Snow to the north of us & snow showers to the south but bugger all in the middle for us. (is that a song LOL) Disappointed & although it is forecast to remain cold, I don't see any real snow opportunities for Nottingham in this cold snap
  6. We just a had a fairly heavy snow shower & im sure I heard a clap of thunder, it certainly went very black however now bright sunshine
  7. Unfortunately aside the usual suspects eg derbyshire peaks etc I cant see us fairing that well as a region as a whole re snow in this kind of set up however as the cold digs in somebody could be in for a pleasant surprise & it wouldn't take much for our region to become more favourible. Get the cold and at least thats one battle won
  8. Umm it looks like the East Midlands could potentially do well out of the next few days, a covering at least however again we are on the edge
  9. Thats not true, there is currently a Yellow warning for parts of the East Midlands, North Derbyshire, Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire, still a chance that could extend further south
  10. Actual snow here now, unfortunately too late to amount to anything
  11. A bit of sleet now in Nottingham
  12. Well the Nottingham snow shield worked a treat albeit slighly late kicking in, went to bed at 11pm to heavy snow beginning to settle, woke up this morning to nothing & drizzle LOL However by all accounts North of Nottingham eg Mansfield etc does have a decent covering, another case of so near yet so far. However can't grumble too much this winter after the treat we had boxing day
  13. lets hope it gets here & then stalls so I can go on the Yorkshire page & take the mick LOL
  14. Not looking great for Nottingham, forecast keeps pushing it back timewise & just light snow. Best we can hope for I believe is a dusting unless it can beef itself up as it pushes north
  15. talking more the City Of Nottingham, Norths Notts usually fairs well
  16. Our local paper now saying that the Met office is suggesting it will hit Nottingham at Rush Hour today, don't see that myself
  17. Agreed, here in Nottingham we often appear to miss out. When snow arrives from the West, it often lost most of its potency or peetred out by time it hits us or if its coming from the East too far inland to benifit from snow showers that come in from the North Sea
  18. I am right in thinking its another band coming in later which peps us what is currently in wales which hits the Midlands. The annoying thing about living in Nottingham during these West to east snow events is that we're only 40 miles away from Birmingham & they can be being hammered while we don't see a flake although I have known it to be raining in Brum while snowing here LOL
  19. I find that very odd, surely if we get a period of heavy snow then it will settle given the conditions tonight. Given the size of the region its very possible us in the East could be disappointed however who knows, definitely a wait & see on this one. My main concern is the front coming in doesn't look that potent to give anyone a period of heavy snow certainly not over here in the East
  20. Got to love the weather, the same weather lady on radio Nottingham who only yesterday was talking rain is now talking snow for everyone tonight
  21. In fairness some parts of the Midlands have done quite well, we had bugger all last winter not even a flake yet this winter we had lying snow from Boxing Day till New Years Eve. I appreciate that is no confort to you in your neck of the woods but some parts of the Midlands have done well. Sadly tomorrows potential snow event just doesn't look like panning out but with it being only the 19th of Jan its far to early to write the rest of the winter off. As today has shown the models can quickly change
  22. I meant the symbols on their website, this morning it was rain now its snow again. It was just an observation not to be take seriously hence the LOL at the end of my post. My own view is like I said earlier, im sure some will get a surprise while others will be disappointed. For us in Nottingham it also depends how much precipitation makes it this far East, could all break up before it hits us so the Snow or Rain debate could well be academic for us. Boxing Day was a classic example of the kind of uncertainty we are seeing now, for Nottingham it was forecast as all rain event on the day & even that may miss us. It then did indeed start as rain but then it quickly turned to snow, giving us a unexpected surprise
  23. All over the shop, BBC now saying heavy snow for Nottingham tomorrow night LOL
  24. I think its safe to say that somewhere will no doubt be in for a pleasant surprice tomorrow however its looking like rain/sleet for the most of us now. Just the way it goes. Plenty of winter left and having been spoilt on boxing day with lying snow till New Years Eve us in Notts ain't done too bad so far this season
