Oh great, we have drizzle now in Nottingham, hope this isn't going to be a huge anti-climax for us. Still looking good for later though so fingers crossed
Snowing here in Nottingham but roads fine, grass & pavements though have a covering. North Notts again getting the worst. However the main event for us appears to be tonight so don't be too disappointed with what we have currently. At the moment a good chance of heavy snow for Nottingham tonight
Agreed these things never quite pan out as forecast, lets hope that when its finally over us, it pushes further East for us in Notts.
Fortunately Im south of Nottingham right on the border with Derbys/Leics so I think we will get a decent covering at least
Lets hope not for us in the East, its at times like this that the Midlands thread needs splitting into east & west as its depressing listening to you lot talking up snow amounts LOL
Need a shift further northeast for Nottingham to really get hit, so close to the sweetspot but but not close enough at the moment, nothing worse than to hear Birmingham 40 miles to the west is getting blasted while us in the East are struggling to get a flake
Notts & Nottingham finally have a yellow warning, this morning we didn't even have that, like I say a covering will do me although there is always that doubt that it could go wrong, stays as rain or doesn't make its as far north east
In fairness the guy on Radio Notttingham from the Met said he expected warnings to be issued for my area today. The comment about the East Midlands came from the bloke on the BBC so he probably meant areas of the peak district in derbyshire rather than Notts/Leics.
If we get a covering I will be more that happy when we're this close to April
Is Nottingham still in the firing line because some views on here appearing to be contradicting what I heard on both the Radio & TV this morning that said its game on for the Nottingham & the East Midlands being one of the worst areas to be hit ?
Whats going on with Nottingham, listened to the weather on both Radio & the TV this morning and they said Nottingham could get a dumping & the East Midlands in general the best place to be but come on here & everyone talking further west
Every chance now Nottingham could have a covering if this keeps up, its that heavy now struggling to see the building across the road. So sad that if we do get a covering but then the sun comes out with it being March it would soon be gone
About half an hour ago we had a really heavy snow shower here in Nottingham, proper big flakes which surprised me given the forecast this morning said any showers would be sleet at most.
Sun is out again although clouding up again to our North & East so maybe another heavy snow shower is on its way
In fairness I think a lot of people like myself are now in spring mode and lets be honest the most we will probably get is wet snow that won't settle due to the proceeding rain, I certainly think that is the best we can hope for at lower levels at least. Obviously hope to be proved wrong
snow grains falling in Nottingham most of the morning although nothing of note whatsoever. However potential for a surprise or two for us in the East overnight. Nothing substantial but a covering for some I think
Not the greatest of winters over here in Nottingham, had snow but certainly no dramatic amounts, events like sunday and the Friday a couple of weeks ago just didn't come off.
However given that prior to 2010 we went several winters in a row with no lying snow whatsoever cant really complain
Well yesterdays snow was far better for us in Nottingham than the non event that was sunday. Sods law it was just so short lived.
Looking forward though to a few days of dry & less cold weather
