Im in Ruddington and its getting heavier so should improve soon your way

why did I pannick, coming down great in Nottingham now, not big flakes but heavy all the same

well steady snow now falling in Nottingham, very fine but consistant and settling

Just goes to show how fast things change, one minute its look west, now its look Southeast, more optimistic now and in fairness to the Met office they called it for this afternoon in Nottingham with their last update

Heavy snow for 3pm, this could still be game on if it pans out as they suggest

need this to happen otherwise I think we will just have to write off today for Nottingham, it was so close as well

The next radar update crucial,as the last one had the snow even further to our west in Nottingham

Exactly this is the East Midlands Thread and so far certainly in Notts the best we have seen is very light snow so you can see why people are a bit frustrated with todays event especially as it appears its stalled just to the west of us. Hopefully we will still get something out of today and personally I think we will if nothing spectacular The one good thing however is Forest V Derby should be on tomorrow

That god they split the Midlands into 2 threads otherwise it could have been very depressing for us in the East today

The snow really isn't far away now for us according to the radar, so fingers crossed for the next hour

In fairness as per the Met Office this morning they did say Nottingham would get it late morning, will not be happy if it grinds to halt just short of Notts & peeters out, not after anything spectacular just another covering Edit: After that little sulk, now seeing the odd flake

Agreed been going now for a good 45 mins and appears to be intensifying

well so far it appears things have improved for us tomorrow and this light snow falling now appears to be intensifying with a few big flakes, what a turn around from the doom & gloom first thing this morning

Very bizarre we appear to have a snow event materialising out of nothing for this afternoon/evening

I think we will get a fresh covering of snow just not as good as further west, let not forget we could also do well from Snow Showers coming in from the East on saturday, there is certainly no reason for doom and gloom in my opinion

As said in earlier in the thread, for once Im not too bothered if we get snow because I want the Forest v Derby game to definitely be on this saturday, so SODs law means we will get snow when im actually not too fussed. The good news for us this morning, is that signs are improving for us in the East. The Met office guy on Radio Nottingham this morning said we wont get the really heavy stuff but by the end of the day could have at least 5cm which would be a decent top up for what is still left in Nottingham from Monday, my garden for example is still covered. So certainly no blizzards for us but looking better

Thats not what the Met Office Guy said on Radio Notttingham less that 30 mins ago, he said 5 cm plus latest NAE shunting it slightly further East tomorrow as well
