    Conversely the Met Office has just updated to show 3 hours of snow for this area tomorrow morning.

    Persistent light snow here. Looks festiv, I'm happy even though the depths weren't a good as hoped.

    I think for West Yorkshire the warnings should have been 2-5 low ground, 5-10cm high ground seems about right. There is covering of snow at 30m asl in the center Leeds so its not too marginal but the front is a bit of a mess unfortunately.

    Also seen that the showers after the front are increasingly likely to be of snow.

    Well your not looking hard enough, LS16 is a Leeds suburb showing snow throughout, a bit of back edge sleet but could easily fall as snow.

    I dunno about the whole of Yorkshire but I'm extremely optimistic for West Yorkshire. A similar snowfall was the 3rd December 2008. Forecast to turn back to rain, similar frontal scenario. It was all snow even on the back edge, even the showers after the front were of snow.

    I think the Hirlam is bang on, I'm not expecting the front to make too much inroads, like I said earlier I think it will stall over the UK.

    I suspect there'll be a correction south to cover the whole of Yorkshire but we'll see.

    It looks increasingly likely that the front will stall over Northern England, so I'd expect the warning area to increase to cover the whole of Yorkshire.

    That's obviously more snow than 9" in the pic I posted, here's a side view, there was well over 40cm on that day.

    Up north! The winters down south are disgusting you all should be ashamed of yourselves. lol Here's an golden oldie of the snow accumulations in the March 2013 slider. Never gonna get that in London. And I'm technicallly 175m asl, not bad for the suburbs.

    Whats your temperature PIT before the front arrived? It's 0.c here I'm struggling to see it falling as rain.

    It better not snow in London or I'll be an uh-happy bunny, the north deserves the snow this time.

    I always find it crazy how much more snow Leeds gets than most of the North West, you'd think the snow levels would be similar, even tonight it looks like the front will bypass the North West but creep into Yorkshire. I think the warming effects of the north sea impact snow levels across the whole of the North West, the pennines act as a buffer.

    Its a knife edge for West Yorks, if we compare the radar to the EURO4 position the front is already at the position it should be at 9pm. That could either mean its further north or its just pushed through a little earlier than predicted, we'll know in the next couple of hours.

    The front is already a fair bit further north than expected so we'll see.

    Looking at the latest EURO4 we have a good chance now of seeing the front. My worry is if its not heavy enough we could well see rain as the snow signal isn't very strong.

    There used to be loads of posters. Around the 2010 period. Anyone remeber the Storm Force Lewis days he was on a mad one, I remember Yeti from Harrogate as well, the Yorkshire thread was buzzing from 2009 to 2013.
