  1. The updated graphics were just shown on the latest BBC forecast. Even with a southern adjustments I'd be surprised to see us in the firing line.
  2. Arghhhahqbdbahdbsgrbasbsbsh!!!!! Leeds is too for North, London too far south. The models are correcting the slider southwards, we need a 50 mile shift south. Even then we need the heaviest precipitation to get lying snow in central. *cries*
  3. Oh dear. I was gonna book a train to Leeds to experience this event but at this rate it'll only skim Yorkshire. London too far south, Leeds too far north. *cries*
  4. Juding by the latest GFS we could be in the firing line but we would need a 50 mile correction south again. Still don't think we'll see snow here. Maybe somewhere like St Albans been the wintry line.
  5. The latest BBC forecast have it firmly a northern event. Even with a southerly correction I doubt it would snow in London, more sleety rain mixture at best. I'm hopeful tomorrow we will see a couple of stray showers.
  6. Lucky for me my fam live on a 200m hill in the suburbs of Leeds which goes all the way up to 280m. I'm gonna go up on Saturday night and stay over. heheheh
  7. I feel like the odds of there been lying snow in central London is next to none.
  8. Depends what model you follow, the GFS is knife edge stuff for South Yorkshire, ECM is too far south though guarantees it all to be snow albeit not very much as the heavier echoes miss us. Something in-between ideally
  9. I'd be very wary for now at jumping for joy, if its a dead cert then I'll happily get on the next train north this weekend but the ECM has the slider only clipping South Yorkshire, with the bulk of the precipitation hitting the Midlands, if the GFS carries on pushing the slider further north South Yorkshire would see rain.
  10. It's far from set in stone. Though I'm edging towards it been a Midlands/Southern England event. I don't expect to see lying snow where I am in central London so it looks like we could all miss out unfortunately.
  11. Where does the Met back this up? The official forecast from the Met focus on snow for the south.
  12. I'm in London (have been for the last five years) but usually come up when there is snow forecast. Was gonna come this weekend. But I'm not seeing much snow for Leeds unfortunately. If anything there is more potential for London to see lying snow than Leeds. The angle of the flow is completely off for Leeds to catch the showers, if your lucky you'll get a flurry or two. Sundays slider looks to be too far south as well unfortunately. I think sometime towards the end of next week there is likely to be second frontal snow event where Leeds would be better placed.
  13. I mean 4 1/2 years I didn't move to London till early summer 2013 I'd rather hang on to a Virgin East Coast ticket booking for up north for this weekend than expect snow in central. If anyone remebers the slider of March 22nd 2013 there was alot of chit chat surrounding the low taking a more southerly track, a few runs cottened on to this but eventually it was corrected and the north was the sweet spot. 40cm of snow was measured on the grass in my back garden. Sigh....
  14. Ditto. I've lived in London for five years and have yet to see lying snow. Though the fam live 200m asl in Leeds which definitely helps as I can pop back up for a snow fix.
  15. I see its turned back to snow at Leeds Bradford Airport well sleet but the temp has dropped to 1.c and the PPN was never particularly heavy.
  16. Well there was 3/4 inches of snow in November in Leeds just gone and 4 inches of snow in March 2016 so that's not true, there' been quite a few snowfalls and Leeds Bradford airport is reporting it back to snow and the difference there is there will probably be a covering by morning, nothing of the sort in London.
  17. Light rain/drizzle in central. We'll see what happen when the more intense echoes push through.
  18. It should be snow inland as dew points are around 0.c up until about 9pm, after that the DP are projected to increase to 1.c so we would need something fairly heavy heavy to bring the temperature down sufficiently otherwise a wintry mixture in Central London.
  19. Been snowing on and off in central London. Not that often you see it raining on the hills in the north and snowing here.
  20. Alternating between sleet and rain in central London. Sigh.....
