  1. 3.c and light rain, not a bad way to start considering its turning to snow in Liverpool with a temp of 2.5.c Onward and upwards
  2. Not sure where your getting that from uppers between -5/-7 inland by 6am
  3. I reckon there'll be a long period of wet snow to low levels across Leeds A good 9 hours from that.
  4. SAT24 shows a huge area of cloud so doubt it lol I'm using LBA weather station which is super accurate https://www.wunderground.com/history/airport/EGNM/2016/3/3/DailyHistory.html?req_city=&req_state=&req_statename=&reqdb.zip=&reqdb.magic=&reqdb.wmo=&MR=1 A scan on XC shows the area red reporting a drop in temperatures and all at 2/3.c ahead of the encroaching front. Outside of red is around 6.c so interesting to note the variation in temperatures and why places like Sheffield aren't seeing the temperature values further north are seeing. Although it does kinda fit EURO4 narrative of snow accumulation further north.
  5. Hmmmmm the temperature is dropping away surprisingly. The BBC forecast 5.c up till 8pm. Its now 3.c and dropping, in the last 80 minutes the temp has dropped by 2.c DP 1.c Kinda getting excited
  6. It doesn't need to move further east not sure why you want it to. The NMM is quite bullish on widespread snow at least for a time EURO4 less so.
  7. The front pivots so Sheffield does see snow eventually if the system is further north, looking at the current radar the precipitation is definitely further north than what the NMM shows so far the EURO4 has the best handle of the front so far.
  8. EURO4 pushed the front further north hence why the whole of Leeds and Bradford would see accumulations from that down to low levels. As a result south Yorkshire misses out, really just a case of radar watching
  9. EURO4 looks fantastic for high ground inland. Low ground should see some accumulation maybe 2-3cm by morning, I think by afternoom it'll turn a little sleety and possibly to rain. We could see alot of snow falling for a time for lower levels but I think the snow will be quite wet in nature hampering accumulations. All to play for and quite exciting.
  10. EURO4 is indicative of snowfall primarily between Sheffield/Leeds/Harrogate, around 150m+ could see some significant accumulations Its all rather localized.
  11. I'm edging on it starting of as rain at all levels. I reckon a covering of wet snow for low ground alternating between sleet and wet snow between around 100m. Fun and games hopefully at 210m asl
  12. EURO4 seems to be the least bullish for snowfall potential
  13. Quick roundup of the 12z models HIRLAM NMM 5km ARPEGUK EURO4
  14. Tuesdays 18z Euro 4 looked a little hit and miss for Sheffield with it been stuck either side of the heavier precipitation, and I think that's what happened earlier today. But as ever with showery fragmented precipitation some places will miss out. Leeds did quite well from what I saw on social media.
  15. Potentially something special Thursday into Friday. GFS looks fantastic, word of warning we'll be at the hands of the dreaded north Sea wind north of the centre of the low I could see it raining in York while snowing up to the coast in Lincolnshire. Depends where the low centres itself, ideally for Leeds a touch further north to make sure we don't get the wind.
  16. Looking at the trajectory places further north Like Leeds are stuck on a fine line it could easily skid to the south.
  17. Thursday is potentially very interesting but I could definitely see it been a bit too marginal for low level. Tomorrow for South Yorkshire looks fantastic, I'm not hedging any bets for West Yorkshire. I'm back in Leeds Thursday morning so hopefully I'll be greeted by an ever encroaching band of heavy snow.
  18. It's reappeared and pretty much stopped raining. Those lucky enough to be above 150M in central London saw snow tonight well done! My paltry 11 floor Thames facing room was clearly no match.
  19. The top of the shard has disappeared, indicative of a falling snow line?
  20. The signal is stronger on the EURO4 NMM is a little patchy http://expert-images.weatheronline.co.uk/daten/proficharts/en/euro4/2016/02/01/basis18/ukuk/prty/16020306_0118.gif
  21. Potential for a feature to run south on Wednesday morning, high ground in particular could be prone to some wintry weather.
  22. Squally showers passing through, gusty winds and heavy hail.
