Wow, talk about anti-climax....a dusting here in Chelmsford. I got more snow when it unexpectedly fell around a month ago!
-
All very disappointing if you ask me. First the weekend, then Today and now tonight and I bet I still have to go to work tomorrow! Talk about overhyped.
-
Anyone care to be bold and draw an updated map with the dividing line? I promise I won't hold you to it!
-
Little change from the NAE. Still suggests snowfall for the majority with the heaviest falls being predicted for the N of this region.
I expect alot of moaning from the London/SE thread though!
Yes, probably for the best that the threads got split. One thread will be on Prozac and the other high from all the copious amounts of snow!
-
Well I shall make this forum my home and stop by the other SE thread from time to time once the snow arrives. Judging by that map it looks as though we are in the best place!
-
Hooray I'm in the green circle!!!!
-
Sorry off topic, but whole forum is fast turning into an absolute farce. Mods need to start banning.
-
It's all looking fantastically promising for us - have even broken out the Christmas CD... I don't mind having to wait for a week, or a couple of weeks, as long as we get there in the end. And best of all, this thread is a troll-free zone! Really, some of the comments on the Model thread beggar belief.
I second that. It's actually refreshing to come in this forum and have sensible posts as opposed to the handbags going on in the mod thread

Ya know it's times like this when I wish the models didn't go as far out as they did.
-
I'm in awe of these charts. Yes the eye candy is pure FI, but it's virtually beasterly perfection. FI aside, I'm happy with the 144h
-
Yep, definitely light snow in Chelmsford now
-
Nothing to report here (Chelmsford).
-
Relentless snow here in Chelmsford now too. Still waiting for the 50p stuff though!

Chelmsford here - anyone think this will be good for some snow over the weekend? Im dying to build a snowman and go sledging you see.....
-
Anyone know the chance of Essex getting a pasting later on? I'm thinking its doubtful?
-
Kent Is still yellow feel sorry for us !!!
Essex is too:(
-
Kent is still yellow I live in west Kent and right
next to me in the next county
it's red!!! What's going on ?
I really wouldn't pay too much attention to the areas dictated by Met Office. Sure, it would appear that the bullseye is western home counties, however as we've seen this afternoon a lot can change in 3-6 hours and overnight it will change again. This is not your average straightforward forecast. Better to be in west kent than east kent.

What does IMBY mean? I've seen it used alot on here in the past few weeks...

Make no mistake
I would expect the orange areas in the S and SE to be upgraded to red by midnight. Yellow areas next to orange areas to become red.
If Yamkin receives similar bespoke meto updates to us then the sentiment in his thinking will probably be the same.
Interesting, I think places just slightly further East than the main hot spot will see much more than they are hoping for. I expect Reading will be really a town to watch as will winchester, and basingstoke.
Seems like Basingstoke is the place to be if you like snow. Wasn't that the place two weeks ago where people left and abandoned their cars...?
-
Lovely bright blue skies here in Chelmsford, Essex. Hoping its going to snow overnight though. Watching the rest of the week and weekend unfold with interest. Total accumulations by Sunday could be mammoth if the rampable models come off....
-
Thanks,
I already made a proposal about that to Paul via pm, i also made a thread for it to be deleted right away, a lot of people don't realize that the model is not all about FI and trend spotting, 99% of people are more interested in what the models are showing now and in reliable time frame, because anyone with common sense knows things change so much with models!
If people want to talk trends and bicker about FI, then this is the thread to do it;
http://forum.netweat...del-discussion/
In depth and technical model discussion
This thread is for general, a lot of users may not be "experienced" with charts, like me, i'm good with reading charts, but not at patterns or trends, i take every run as it comes. I don't look into FI, i'm more interested about now, and tomorrow not next week. Or in 3 weeks time.
Thats why so many people get confused on here.
Yeah for what its worth, I second the splitting up of the model discussion posts into pre and post FI stuff. It takes ages to catch up on threads as it is, let alone then filter down the comments individually by +144 or whatever (and then by geographical region!). Cheers. EB.

Ok, so tomorrow we kinda know about. Without wishing to sound greedy but what's the latest for saturday and Sunday? Everyone seems to be concentrating on tomorrow's action and I wondered whether there is any additional snow potential for later in the weekend?
