Minimum 4.9°C, nowhere near a frost as I expected. Maybe places in the far east of the region have got one?
We got one but by 8 o’clock it had all disappeared as cloud moved in.
rain pretty much constant since mid day and hammering on the conservatory roof a few minutes ago.
all in all a poor day.

At this time of year these systems can correct south as much as they wan’t for me.
whilst the late March 2013 event was pretty spectacular around these parts it was also exceptional and i’d Imagine for every repeat of that, we’d have a dozen with nothing but marginal sleety crap at best.
sorry but i’m laid up at the moment watching cold rain peeing down outside and the thoughts of some spring warmth is one of the few things cheering me up.

....Time yet
(Ready for Spring proper TBH)
Yeah i’m getting a bit fed up of having snow in March, especially when winters usually fail to deliver.
all I want now is light evenings, some warmth in the sun and generally usable conditions.

The issue is that people say 'oh it's just a cold' as if that makes it OK for you to keep on going as you usually would. A bad cold requires bed rest or you run the risk of complications like pneumonia from mixing with other people and acquiring other pathogenic issues as a result of a compromised immune system.
If you feel like crap, it's a sign to stay in bed until it passes.
Problem is that i’m at my worse laid in bed or laid down on the couch.
hopefully the antibiotics will start to kick in and i’ll start to feel a bit better tomorrow though.
one thing is for sure, it’s a flu jab for me next winter if this is what it ends up as.

Green phlegm is a green light to go to the doctor
As bad as ever again now but after a couple of doctors appointments and a chest X-ray, at least I know i’ve got a dose of Pneumonia.
it doesn’t make me feel any better but at least I don’t have to worry that I feel like crap from just a cold.

Have have you got antibiotics if not you need them it won’t go away in it’s own
They won’t usually give them for flu unless you’ve already been measured for your coffin.
the chesty crap came afterwards and they tell you to let it go by itself but if it doesn’t go pretty sharpish they’ll have to give me something

Oh I know how you feel I had a bad cold to start last month which turned into a chest infection and after numerous times of ringing my GP to get an appointment they said they would treiage me over the phone and then the doctor would decide if I needed antibiotics but they kept giving me phone appointments when I was at work so I had to decline and do you know what she said to me “ you can’t take any of these phone appointments “ I said “no”
then she said “ well it’s begs the question whether your actually ill”
i said “when I want a receptionist to diagnose me I will ask”
not knocking any receptionists just this one
So I kicked off and they just left me a prescription
I couldn’t get an appointment until the following week so other than the two minutes the receptionist spent convincing me to stop being a drain on the NHS and just grow a pair it’s ended up being plenty of rest and strong tablets from over the counter.
3 day’s is the longest time i’ve been off work for 20 years though so whatever it was, it’s a nasty little sod.

Not fair sunburn last week frost bite this week
Yeah you couldn’t make it up.
i spent the best part of the warmest days in bed with flue and couldn’t decide whether to shiver or pour with sweat.
now the damp weather has done its best to make a nasty chest infection even worse.
at least it was an excuse to stop in today.

Winds getting up here but chicken and veg always has that effect on me.

After a decent weekend today has felt pretty damn cold and raw again.
not quite a shock to the system but it’s a good reminder that we’re still a long way from spring yet.

Aye it’s been a decent few days and i’ll gladly take another couple of weeks like this before the proper heat arrives in March
for those of us old enough to remember, this time 40 years ago couldn’t have been anymore different with probably the coldest snowiest February i’ve ever seen.

Been the story of the Winter, oh well onwards and upwards. Out to the Alehouse with the Mrs to watch the rugby.
Maybe March will deliver
Hopefully we’ll be doing the same at teatime for the football.

It looks like there is plenty of firewood blocking roads around here this morning for anyone with a chainsaw and a truck.
I just hope that my fence panels aren’t adding to it.

Fairly heavy rain now (torrential drizzle). Reasonably decent dry day tomorrow though.
Yeah I noticed the noise of the drizzle on the conservatory roof, thought it sounded like the torrential type

I hate to say it. The ECM is baiting us for a dumping on Sunday. Everything is very very marginal but.... and its a big but, there might be a surprise in store for a few.
My last fiver would go on rain, even up here although we live in hope and surely a dozen downgrades must equal 1 upgrade.

Not been outside since I came home from the football but it’s been cold all day and most of our snow cover has remained.
just a shame it’s on its way tomorrow.
