  1. Decent depth of snow here now, probably around 5-6 inches from a good number of showers during the day. yesterday was disappointing IMBY but today has pulled it round again and it’s been snowing hard for the last hour. just hope the showers intensifying across the east reach here.
  2. A couple of inches of level snow here and as everything has either gone north or south of me overnight, little top since I went to bed. not a breath of wind and other than it being -7c it’s a lovely early morning. and i’m only 30 miles north of you...........not jealous really.
  3. Heavy snow here but it’s looking like just a short lived rougue shower with normal service of starry skies soon returning.
  4. They’ve been obsessed with everything southern throughout the 10 years i’ve been a member on Netweather.
  5. Compared to others it’s been a poor day here for snow with showers to our south and north and a gap between them pretty much throughout bad this morning but more to do with bad driving and a lack of gritting than than the bit of snow that fell.
  6. BBC forecast shows plenty of snow showers crossing the region today and tomorrow, just hope it comes off. Friday’s low, it showed the snow reaching the southern parts of the region but ended there although hopefully it was just the point where the graphics ended rather than it’s northern extent. meanwhile it’s still snowing lightly here and very slowly adding to the inch or so I already have.
  7. Another large shower looks to be heading into the region from North Yorkshire at the moment.
  8. its good to see most of the region joining in the fun as just shows how the final location is so difficult to pin down. here with had about 3cm so far and it’s still falling lightly.
  9. That’ll do nicely, it looks like it’s touch and go though whether Moki is inside or outside of the top line. as they wouldn’t say in the Mod Thread, you need a slight northerly correction.
  10. We’re always chilled in here. expect nowt and then everything is an upgrade.
  11. Get your red crayon out again and point it in our direction and then draw a bloody big wall to either side of it.
  12. Looking at the radar, the first area of snow in the North Sea is intensifying as it approaches the NE coast. whether it fizzles again over land remains to be seen but it’s current track along with big Bertha following behind looks to be heading our way.
  13. If it gets busy they might have to open another regional thread.........oh wait.
  14. That red line goes right over my house. knowing my luck it will act as a 20 mile wide roof and keep me bone dry.
  15. By Friday we’ll be that deep in snow we’ll be hoping it stops short of here.
  16. Enjoy it but don’t look at Friday, where’s our blizzard of the century gone.
  17. Yeh the model thread is for the use of our southern friends only. northerners can enter but at your peril and certainly don’t post anything that may raise our prospects at the expense of theirs.
  18. Still snowing lightly and the forecast hints at more throughout the day so hopefully a covering for many of us before tonight.
  19. BBC news forecast gust now showed Tuesdays snow crossing more of the region than it did yesterday. hopefully this stays the case.
  20. Light blowing snow here at the moment but what is reaching the surface is sticking so looking good already. an interesting few days coming up.
  21. Is it just me who is feeling underwhelmed by our snow prospects this week. i’m not saying we will miss out completely but looking at the BBC forecast, Tuesdays trough is going to head south into the midlands whilst the bulk of the showers into Wednesday and Thursday are mainly for east and especially NE areas of the country. Fridays heavy snow and blizzard event, IMO that will be mainly a midlands southwards affair and although it showed it tracking northwards later I can see the usual happening with the northern extent being barely getting to the M62 corridor. no science in this, just a gut feeling and one that i’m happy to be proved wrong with. one thing is certain though, it’s going to be bloody cold this week, snow or no snow.
  22. Aye it looks grand out and the dogs look to be enjoying it. i bet the long distance views are fantastic with Snowdonia easily visible from the top of Rooley Moor and Blackpool Tower from Deerplay war memorial. i might just treat myself to a look out later.
  23. TBH it’s probably a fantastic day to be out walking and if I didn’t have a couple of jobs to finish off i’d be off like a shot. need plenty of layers though.
  24. Good, i’ve Got a bit of interacting to do myself but it’s only at the top of the garden so basic full winter kit should be sufficient.
  25. A lovely sunny start to the day here but with a strong gusty wind so I imagine it will be perishing outside. our bedroom faces south east and I was woken by the sun flashing on and off like an indicator but before thoughts of the end of the world coming could get the better of me I realised it was flicker from one of the turbines on the ridge above the town. Never seen it before though. another thing I can’t remember ever seeing before was the ramp on the BBC news 24 forecast. lots of heavy snow, blizzards, wind chill as low as -15c, and mentions of serious disruption and dangerous conditions. they are certainly bigging this up now.
