  1. Snow streamer in the Thames is still going on quite strong with totals probably well into the 3-5 inch range now for many I suspect. This is also the case S/SW of London where the snow is pretty heavy. Another line currently looking rather potent to the north of London, that line hasn't budged at all in the last hour and therefore 3-5 inches seem quite possible there as well right now.

Certainly is turning into a very big event, biggest since 1991 I suspect once all is done...

Hi kold how long is this likeley to continue for mate? and the surrey forcaster mentioned seven hours off heavy snow from tommrow midday is this correct mate?

  2. can we nip this 'the roads haven't been gritted' concensus in the bud early doors?! my road was gritted at 7pm. when the snow falls, it does so with such an intensity that the salt cannot stop it accumulating. then the snow is compacted and becomes solid ice- it takes a while for the salt to do it's thing, and if its constantly being topped up from above, no amount of salt is going to have an effect!

Too true mate im in raynes park roads were gritted execpt side roads and once the blizzard hit the gritt standed no chance. :)

  3. Please carry on here guys

Thanks paul glad to see your not giveing up yet mate. Here in raynes park 13cms and counting with the main precip not yet ariveing still in the north sea things are going to get better and better i have my pro plus red bull and 40 menthol. ice spikes about a inch thick hanging from lamposts. also just listened to the surrey forcast the low comeing up from france is suposed to give seven hours off heavy and severe snowfall to give another 10-20cms. this is brilliant. 4. About 7inches here on the surrey/sth london border just down the rd from Banstead, I guess there must now be close to a foot for those on top of the downs? This event is going to surpass 1991 by the looks of it here but still has a way to go to beat 1986 which I remember well as I was learning to drive. Thought I would get some extra pratice in before I took my test by driving to work on my own, when I went to leave work the car was gone under a 6ft snow drift :o

i got around the same mate just down the road from you its amazeing my my car weels can hardley be seen best event since 1991 here.
