  1. Good good! , well goodnight and see everyone in the morning :D

    JUST READ THIS ON TWO!!!!!!!!!!

    :fool:  B) Tom D

That also ties in with my friend who works as a gritter he said i should be expecting 16cms and up could be double. im going for a lovley 25cms how much is that in feet?

Also wind speed kicking in now and it really does feel cold just had a fag and i would say wind speed a sustained 20mph the beast has arived and this event over the next 60 hours could well be the starter before the main course. I dont think i have never seen 10cms fall in london we could see treble that amount :o :):D

  2. well guys just watched the latestwith laura tobin and it showed the famious thames streamer from 6pm to 6am then showed the very heavy precip as snow thats comeing up from france and ;asting for a further 6 hours. we really could be seeing some very serious snow amounts from this i reckon at least 15cms could be alot more.

  3. Night all, fellow south-easterners/east anglians. Have to work tomorrow but I shall be keeping up to date with developments. Not expecting to see anything in Croydon(work) during the aft. but on my return to SE12, hope to see something in the evening. So sleep tight and may all your dreams be white!

    Regards,

    Tom.

croydon should start to see these snow showers around 6pm onwards maybe a tad earlier i would say. does anyone have a link to the latest bbc weather forcast please?

  4. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/playlive/bbc_news24/

This is the forecast I just watched on news 24. Hope its the link you wanted.

Oops thats the live link, sorry, new to this will try again!

No probs bud i will watch the 21:56 forcast with intrest. thanks mate bring on the snow :):):):)

really? that's the "will it turn to rain" event that everyone's on about. The BBC are not expecting (to my knowledge) it to turn to rain on Monday night.

They did earlier on in the day but have now changed it back to heavy snow all forcasts goes with my mates breifing from the met office and some other data. all great news for us.

  5. This is my current thinking for Sunday-monday morning.

    post-1766-1233435677_thumb.jpg

Thanks dave i am right under that star area and well inside that 10-20cms area i will deffinteley take that although i would say going by my mate 14cms and upwards look very likeley. To all in the south east get plenty off red bulls and pro plus in im doing a 48 hour without sleep shift anyone care to join? :D

  6. Right ladies and gents just had my friend around and he says by the looks off things we could see more than he said last night last night he said 8cms easy to 14cms now he had a meeting/breifing at 6:45pm this evening and now he says it looks like we may get alot more snow than he said last night 12cms to 22cms with a thames streamer in place by the looks off things i then showed him the n-w site. And he was amazed how many snow fans there are in london and england he could not belive it. I then told him what can we expect mid week onwards he then said everyone at the depot is talking about this being the starter before the mains so to speak but confidence is about 30% for that but could very well be intresting. Good times ahead for us i feel. Im getting a bit worried tbh about electric being out as well as how the oap"s are going to cope with this. Really worried.

  7. Do you know what models your friend uses?

I mean are they going to have different info to what the forecasters here are saying?

I'm all for getting a everyone's opinions of what is going to happen but it's very difficult to know who to believe anymore.

I thnk i'll take Nicks advice, enjoy Monday and worry about the rest of the week Tueday morning.

Bring on the trumpets...I mean snow.

    Hi mate

My friend uses no models he works at the council and does the gritting they get regular updates from the met and very experienced forcasters. he said he will pop around mine around 7pm so i will update you all on things then untill then things looking very good i had a pm exchange with steve murr last night he was really happy about my area"s chances im in sw london and said we could see alot off snow and theres a good chance that the milder sector will not affect us.

  8. Why do we put ourselves through this, It happens everytime doesn't it?

Much gloom & doom on the forum this afternoon!

It's likely to end up as another 'non-event' for Kent?

    I'm going down the pub!

Look guys and girls the gfs model has been haveing alot off problems off late on handleing this little low take the pros advice on here stick with the euros like ecm which will be critical tonight if that all goes well which it has been off late no problem if it starts backing the gfs then it may be game over for monday night. but that still gives us 24 hours off quite heavy and prolonged snow giveing 6cms atleast i will get the latest off my mate who is haveing another meeting later with the area manager and i will pass on info later. Until then dont panic we are going to get snow. :)

  9. Right ready boys and girls. If you look at the fax chart for Monday ,youll see ive highlighted in red the 528 dam which is the general consensus for snow at sea level, [the whole of the uk is under that!] the lines in blue are bands of snow showers which could well give a good covering to many places later on Monday and any accumulations will drift in that bitter east north east wind.post-6830-1233411661_thumb.png The real fun and games start in the early hours of Tuesday morning with that low moving slowly north , you,ll notice with this second chart we are still under that 528 dam line ,and the area in Blue is where I expect the heaviest of the snow, perhaps up to 12 inches in some favoured spots with drifting as well. It all depends how far north and how fast that low pushes its fronts across our area. There is potential for severe wintry weather in these synoptics but the devil will be in the detail, last minute changes can make a massive difference. Thats my thoughts at the moment....post-6830-1233412142_thumb.png :):(:D

Although i should be posting this on the south east england and london thread i really love you blue ling right over my area good on you mate. :)
