  1. You can tell from his forecasts. Reporting Scotland just gave their usual catious, slightly depressing forecast. If there is the possibility of rain they will spot it. Saying that they are probably right for some parts.
  2. BBC Warning Updated Monday 2 February WEATHER WARNING Heavy drifting snow will fall in The Grampians and Central Scotland and northeast England. 5 to 10cm of snow will fall widely, with 15 to 20cm (as much as 8 inches) falling in a few spots and 40cm (16 inches) in the northern Pennines. Travel disruption is expected. Valid until 2359GMT.
  3. be honest with me guys do you think I will get anything? I know the gulf stream and being on west coast plays against me but Id take a light dusting. Cookie, Not sure about overnight tonight but I'd say you are in a really good position for a cold blast later in the week. From Wednesday night onwards looks like there is some really cold upper air coming your way. I'd expect a bit of snow for you from that Gulf Stream or not.
  4. Another area of low pressure current moving back into SE England has started working north - thus the warning for NE England later on. The hope is that this can get far enough north before it starts moving off to the west. This may bring more prolonged snow for some parts of Scotland later in the evening and tonight. More snow showers becoming heavier this afternoon.
  5. I'm surprised at the Met downgrade for the South East - doesnt fit with whats showing - but good to see Scotland are joining the party.
  6. I think there's is a reasonable chance that Met Office weather warnings will be extended to bring in Scotland this morning. Fingers crossed.
  7. Had an interesting drive back from Edinburgh to Glasgow last night. Rain in Edinburgh but heavy wet snow by the time I got to Harthill (half way betweeen Edinburgh and Glasgow). Snow was even lying on the mate. Mild and breezy in Glasgow tonight at 8c.
  8. After a mild weekend with some heavy rain and really strong winds, a colder feel again to things here as the day has gone on. Temperature at 7C but dropping and I'd expect a touch of frost by the early hours. I wonder if this is the start of another cold spell?
  9. Clear skies with some fog starting to form NE Glasgow. Temp -2.0C with a drop of 2c in the last hour.
