  1. Anybody know when was the last time there was a wash snow streamer?
  2. I remember watching the Horizon doc about this over ten years ago and got really excited at the time 😊
  3. Hi Marie, this exactly how I felt yesterday when the heavy snow turned to a rainy slushy grey mess.
  4. Hi Moon, did you have much snow yesterday? Grew up and went to Tabor school in Braintree.
  5. I think you and those in around the Kent and Essex coasts could do well from this.
  6. Been on here since the 2007 snow event. TBH ever since, I never watch BBC weather forecasts, or any apps ect. The excellent posters on here do provide everything you need to know on what the weather is likely to do.
  7. Sigh...must be awful for them poor things.I wonder if the missus can be persuaded that we must go and help them with all of that lovely thick snow. ðŸ˜
  8. Spot on. It's all about the temp and dews, and of course how heavy the snow is. Being an extreme example the Dec 1990 snowstorm started as heavy rain, thus snow fell on saturated ground. Many places received at least a foot!
  9. When the second load of snow came that night in Jan 2003, it only lasted about an hour, but is one of the best snowfalls I have ever seen. Here is a pic of the next morning in Huntingdon. Hearing snow blowing against the windows like sand is a great sound!
  10. As I finished work at 11:00 am, rain was falling. It then turned to heavy snow for about 40 mins turning grass and roofs white. But as usual in this part of the world, it turned to rain and washed it all away!
  11. Those of you in its path don't worry it started here as rain then turned to heavy snow .
  12. Heavy snow here in Huntingdon! Heavy snow here in Huntingdon!
  13. Hi Sparky welcome! nice to see someone from Huntington on here! How's the MK commute (I may be getting a job there myself) Sorry mods for off topic but can't seem to PM sparky.
  14. Potentially if I was in Norfolk I'd be quietly optimistic about the upcoming northerly. Past records show that they can really deliver many inches of snow in those parts.
