Look north still going for southerly lunge through South Yorkshire
they'll be lucky. it's all going north-westerly now.
it's definitely developed an upward tilt to it, give it another half hour or so and it'll be gone over me

Would be funny if the dry forecast for us was wrong and we got Snow.
I'll nip outside and see if I can blow it south a bit.....

Looks like that large blob on the radar has moved too far west for me
Ah well, it was good while it lasted

very light snow here in Penistone.
There's a thin covering over everything, but traffic is moving on the main road without problems.
keeping those fingers crossed for you all to get something out of this before it fizzles out

Been having very light snow showers on and off since mid evening time in Penistone.
There's a thin layer on everything, with a slushy, wet snow layer on the cars.
Our back lane is covered (vehicle access only) but the main road outside is clear.
We're at around 250m asl here (just below the woodhead pass)

Bad by looks of mod thread
it could be a set up with no doubt, snowing already and the mod thread would be throwing the toys out of the pram and predicting a warm spell.
too much FI watching addles the brain

Snowing nicely in Penistone, just below the Woodhead Pass.
obviously, with the cold and dry, it's settled straight away.

looks like things have changed - we were forecast light snow from 12 onwards.
nothing at all forecast now. think it's going to be a radar watch day.

...and to top it all off we have unbearably smug posters who live at like 200m+ demanding that we feel happy for them. They need to stop trying to make that happen, it's not going to happen.
Hey! not all of us 200m+ peeps are smug!

Out in the car at the moment.
Switching between rain, sleet and snow almost second to second!
It can't make it's mind up
That band is growing though, more precipitation adding to the back, so it's significantly wider than it was on approach to the land.
-
Large band of precipitation on it's way in.
we had a light snow shower around lunch time.
are we in for something a bit more then?
fingers crossed!
-
wet chunky flakes here, had one or two decent showers in the last hour.
cars have a slight covering, some side roads have a slushy mess on them. could do with something pepping up a bit

Hi guys,
Just popping into your thread as I'm visiting for a little holiday to York (mainly) this coming Sunday until later on Wednesday looks like perfect timing if I'm too see any of the white stuff, where would you recommend to drive to nearby I.e within a hours drive. The Pennines? More chance up your way of seeing anything next week than we have down in NW Kent!
Also any recommendations for places to visit and things to do around the area dont mind driving to other places in Yorkshire just fancied a break away from the SE.
Have a good day all and fingers crossed this region in the coming week sees some ❄
A good place (although it's about 1hr 20mins away from York) is to get up to Holme Moss, above Holmfirth.
I've known it to be decent in the bottom, but thick snow at the top!

Looks like that stream of showers has turned more towards us in South Yorkshire, rather than West Yorkshire

that storm working it's way up the east coast is really quite active. it's clicking like mad.
Hope someone's got the video rolling!!

Snowing in Penistone at the moment. Got a bit of lying snow too.
-
-
Is been drizzling here in Barnsley for about half hour, but just got heavier and when it did this happened..
So it's a bit marginal at the moment, it seems

Covered again in Penistone, very very foggy to boot.
Looks like that little patch just south of Sheffield is turning to snow on the higher ground, so we could get some more shortly.
-
Just sat waiting for the missus to come out of a call in Barnsley and it's trying desperately to snow.
Only fine light stuff, but the clouds look full. It's weird.

I know, it's extremely noisy in the interchange in town!
