Well same for today. Weather front slower to decay than expected.

Local forecast going against the national forecast in a positive manner for tomorrow. The local forecast has been right for no storms the last few times so sods law will mean it'll get this one wrong and we'll get a blank again.

our forecast has now changed. just a 57% chance between 6pm-7pm!

ah well, good while it lasted :)  :)

this morning, I will say, it doesn't feel warm enough or muggy enough for storms. there's hazy sunshine and we keep getting the odd gust of wind.

I really, really, really need to get myself a new weather station. I hate not knowing what the stats are outside...

  3. well, the weather's playing a strange one this week.

yesterday the radar showed light showers over us constantly all day, yet we had 1 very early and that was it. Dry all day.

Now it's showing nothing, yet it's raining, even the forecast says it should be dry! I got washing to do :)

Anyways, looking forward to a possible light show tomorrow. still forecast around here with 70% chance

  4. I'm currently staying on the west Isle of Wight, it's very warm and sticky, but the sun's only popped it's head out once earlier for a few minutes. Otherwise it's been wall to wall cloud :D

I'm just wondering where my sun booking is. I'm pretty sure I booked early, 2 weeks, SE England, September, All day sunshine. Yep. Now where's my order! :nonono:

Looking at this mornings charts, Gaston could actually be of help for your holiday, riding the jet to the North of the U.K. which allows high pressure to build from the South. Along way off mind but looking ok for now. Back home in North Yorkshire, may aswell stay in bed all day, forecast 16c Max and cloudy/murky :nonono:

I've not seen this mornings forecast for Gaston, but I know the recent ones have been quite favourable.

It's prettymurky here. no idea on temperature. my weather station broke a little while ago and I've still not got around to replacing it .

  6. we just had heavy rain for most of the day.. but yeah. started out with bright sunshine!

My eyes are focused on next weekend - off to the IOW for a couple of weeks so I've been looking at the charts and the model threads, it's looking rather good for at least the first week.

of course, Gaston my still have something to say about that....

  7. been on holiday since the bank holiday :)

Currently on the Isle of Wight. the last week and a half , this week especially, has been stunning. warm temps, clear skies.

Heading back to the Lincolnshire coast tomorrow for the final weekend. Hoping it'll continue for a few more days.

going to be a looong drive tomorrow :)

  8. Had a few hefty showers later on. but wasn't too bad today.

I hear the IOW ferry can be a bit bouncy at times.  Mind you if it is rought and you end up being sea sick, look at the horizon and it will calm it down.

I'm fine. my sea legs are fine. it doesn't take too much rocking for the OH to start though :)

  9. WOW just had crazy rain near Rotherham about an hour ago. The sky was fantastic. I was on M18, Jc 1 and it was very impressive. The rain was absolutely torrential, I had the wipers on speed 3 and still couldnt cope. Saw 2 flashes of lightning and thunder but the rain was the main event. Everywhere was flooded under a few inches of water. What a great few days of weather its been :D

I saw it on the radar, I thought it was going to catch us. But it drifted just over the other side of the hill (I'm in a valley)

I could see the really dark clouds through my back door!

Nice and sunny this morning, with just a few high clouds around

  10. What a day it's been for the South Yorkshire folk!

I must say I've forgotten how scary it is driving in a proper menacing storm! The street lights were on, day turned to night, road was flooding and much of the time I was aquaplaning! Frightening is an understatement!

except for this south yorkshire folk :(

it skirted off to the east of my location, only heard it.

Most we've had is a 10 minute heavy rain storm with 1 lightning and 2 thunder claps

And we're not forecast anymore today. ah well ne'er mind
