1. Summer continues unabated here in Alberta...September definitely seems to be much more of a summer month than June or even sometimes July since i have been here...27c today..and could get passed 30c on Thurs and Fri and staying in the high 20s right through the weekend with unbroken sunshine.

    Yes CH..

My 3rd Sept & always had the best weather then..Infact the warmest day has been in Sept the last 3 years..

    It will change quick though..!!!!

  2. Sunny spells and blustery showers. 12c. Gusty wind as has been the case in the last few days. A bit more than gusty perhaps tomorrow though.

    Hi norrance,

Just to say we are now in calgary/canada living. It,s great here and the weather is? well diffrent -26 12 weeks ago +21 today that felt a lot hotter than that taking in alttitude ext.

    Keep up supporting the boys.

  3.
Hi Rollo. Pretty much the same here but all hail showers. Not too sure about this next system however. I think the whole thing looks as if it may track just a wee bit further south and take the strongest of the winds with it! Completely missed out on the last one. Looks as if central's weather dome is kicking in already! Still I may be wrong (hopefully) Would be nice to get something exciting as it has been ages now.
Had a breif Rain/sleet shower about 13:30 that turned to very wet snow for all of 5 mins.

    Clear and cold now.

This november reminds me of this month in the 80s.

  4. Hi guys,

jusy woke from my summer slummber and ooh what a fuss. My god i can see snow to the north of me on the tops of highest peaks. Now that,s two weeks earlier than a cold winter??.

Happy winter campers or will we fall flat on our faces in the mud during nov+ dec ? I feel not !!!

  5. Looks as though the front is now on a go slow and will hold on around angus, north dundee and forfar areas.

Iam about 10miles from the coast and higher up we have about 4-5cms and snowing with heavy bursts on and off.ithink i am right on the edge of it snowing all day or a slight milder interlude. Heavy now though.

  6. THAT MODEL THRED IS NOW A JOKE IF THERE WAS A CHANCE OF SOME SNOW DOWN THERE IT WOULD BE RED HOT JUST NOW, WENT THROUGH THE THREAD AND I AM NONE THE WISER ON WHAT IS GOING ON.

I find myself going over to two more and more often now as they seem to talk more sence overall(it used to be the other way round)

Thank god for this scottish thread and i hope it stays on during the summer.Anyway as norrance says just had a small snow shower and hope that cloud driffts a little more south today but thing looking ok for the rest of the week and onwards.

Have a nice day all and keep up the good banter on here.

  7. Ok, tomorrow evening looks interesting for anywhere from Fort William to Wick to Comrie to my location, as a band stalls over northeast Scotland for a number of hours before heading southwest. http://expert.weathe...021700_1512.gif

The southern extent is somewhere around Dundee, so potentially very interesting for the residents of two of the largest Scottish cities. Temperatures look impressively cold for where precipitation is falling http://expert.weathe...021700_1512.gif http://expert.weathe...021700_1512.gif so snow and quickly accumulating on frosty or icy ground is likely for anywhere inland.

After this and IMO the UKMO looks impressive for some snowfall in eastern Scotland, with the low fairly close and an easterly wind kicking in http://www.meteociel...20-21.GIF?15-18

The ECM is a lovely run and a better one for most areas. http://www.meteogrou..._thgt850_72.png

    http://www.meteogrou..._thgt850_96.png

The latter is interesting in particular as this is pretty much the same setup that brought 5 inches to central Edinburgh and 10 inches around the M90 from Perth to Edinburgh.

    http://www.meteogrou...thgt850_120.png

At +144 a brief northerly bout brings in more geniunely cold uppers across northern Scotland http://www.meteogrou...thgt850_144.png , and at +168 everywhere north of Birmingham is under -5 uppers. In fact up to +240 -5 uppers are present across southern Scotland and northwest England http://www.meteogrou...thgt850_240.png

And even for those further south what's not to love about this chart? http://www.meteogrou...thgt850_192.png

Not quite what '93 was here but it could be pretty good for northwest England and Ireland if it came off. So in summary, nothing in these charts suggest mild, not even average for many areas, and potentially very snowy further north.

  9. Actually i am Scottish and don't live that far from you. I was being facetious with my earlier comment, but people obviously did not pick up on this. This will be my last post. I am actuallly shocked at the way some of the so-called 'respected' and 'regular' contributors reacted to my post. I haven't contributed, but i have been reading all posts avidly throughout this winter. I will stick to being on the periphery.

That was quick gbm in and out on 6 posts.Does gbm stand for "gone before monday"?

There is a lot of tong in cheek on here mate so don,t take in to heart,as you can see i don,t post to mutch since joining over a year ago just learning like you.
