Thanks Worzel. Still can't understand those temps. of 4-5C behind the Occlusion with the air source obviously from the Arctic Circle.<img src='http://forum.netweather.tv/public/style_emoticons/default/aggressive.gif' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='<_<' />
YEA dont worry heather is wrong you should see a couple of inches sat and sun . But the fun will begin on mon/tues as the models will end up with an easterly by xmas day.

Just poping in to say hello from the sidlaw hills.
Does anyone see a snow event as a chance for most days next week? or are my eyes going all snowy with staring at this for 2 solid weeks.
I have 4 kids 2 sledges and masses of great hills to take on.......................................

I will have the best chance.
15 MILES inland and a funnel coast line.(theres a new one eeh!).

Models look ok to me,
Remember these islands are a big place.
Some may win some may loose, lets look at the bigger picture if you can?

Southerly winds from The Antarctic, surely the last thing we want, unless the penguins are from Edinburgh Zoo.
Penguins in camperdown park, last seen heading south.
Do they know something we dont ? O
-
Mind you, the two 500 metre hills about 2 miles to our south should suffice at this altitude for snow, maybe leave it for those who are further from decent altitude.
I will be safe inside the igloo in my back yard...!!!!!!!!!!!!

Still raining cats & dogs, little wind, 9C...
Pete. just shows the diffrence 130miles can make.
Very very wild here still heavy rain and a gust of 65mph in the last 15 mins.LAMPOST swaying in the gale very wild.

The centre of the low has moved through here now and we are on the whip round, with the clouds now on a north south track, the wind has increased a lot in the last hour it is very wild out there and dark.
There is a great pic of the low moving through scotland on the sat just now.

not directly at you alone Frosty but your comments sum up some of the rather OTT adverse comments in this thread about how bad this summer has been.
Give me strength some of you about such a bad week or month
The figures IF you look them up show that much of England along with some of Wales exceeded quite easily the long term maximum temperatures EVERY day over the past week, 26C on some days in the south and every day above 22C.
If you want Med heat why not move there instead of saying what an awful summer it is-it is NOT for a good many from my observations. Of course there are exceptions but it is the UK we all live in.
Lets have some constructive comments about what the weather has been for a change.
Ye it,s the (U.K) we live in not (uae). But in saying that where i am it has been very poor an avg or 1 nice 4 bad ohh how i wish we had what most of you south easties have 24 and not 14 and pi--ing down.At least i get real snow na na na !!
-
Looks like a complete washout for scotland and northern ireland... fully expect upto 3 inches of rain in next 72 hours!!....the summer continues further south.. incredible the difference a few hundred miles can make to weather...
For us northerners.. charts paint a miserable picture for the rest of August.. the rubbish summer theme continues.. and the number of rain days keeps mounting up
That is why a scottish weather forum would be an addition to the net weather service. The diffrence between shetland and kent is the same as kent and the south of france .Anyway looking drab and dreich oor the weekend up here .
-
Had two today the one at about 2 pm was big and just to the north of me . 3 miles for the center.
-
24.2 here just north west of dundee.MiLD for us then.
-
First morning for a week with no har. Very warm at 8am 21.2. Now at 21.8 with more of a breeze and BIG clouds over the distant mountains.sticky also.

The only time that the bbc give an good (good not great) look at the scottish weather,is when we have our version of countryfile on a sunday called landward. We then get our own look at the week ahead allbeit a view from london, but in fairness a scottish view 3-4 mins of forecast instead of uk wide forecast.I have to say that it depends who is presenting the weather if it skirts over scotland quick or not. over all i would go for a full scottish six news with our own weather and that will shut us up until independance.
-
 YES i have the answer.Move the hole met office, lock stock and barrel to brussels ooooh yes then we can have euromet which can give out the weather for the regions of europe. And since england is just a small region of europe that will do just fine. Get the message? EUROMET NOW.
