  1. As its school hols and I dont have to be in work till 5pm tomorrow night, im going to stay up, I was awake and witnessed the whole 1987 storm, its surreal to watch, but its also so very worrying, the damage that potentially could happen is very scary, im concerned for my parents in their mobile home mainly but im also concerned for those whom have to go out tonight for various reasons. Remember 19 people died in 1987 because of a storm - we dont want anyone to die because of St Jude.
  2. C2C website: Due to bad weather being forecast, in particular strong winds and heavy rain, we will be running a revised service on Monday. Please be aware our trains may have to run at reduced speeds and our Laindon shuttle services will now not operate on Monday. These contingency plans have been put in place following advice from Network Rail. Whilst we'll be planning to run our revised timetable on Monday, please also be aware that short notice alterations, delays and cancellations may also be possible. We advise customers to look at our Twitter account @c2c_Rail and our website alterations page. We recommend you check the latest travel information before starting your journey.
  3. The Met Office said 20-40mm (0.80-1.6 ins) of rain might fall within six to nine hours in the wettest areas. It said the predicted storm - named St Jude after the patron saint of depression and lost causes, whose feast day is on Monday - was not one "you would see every year".
  4. My best friend is lovely but she isnt listening to me, She wants to travel to Deal tomorrow morning 6am from Wickford - thats if she even gets across to kent!!!!!!!!
  5. Setting alarm now for 30 mins to get double pegged washing in off line
  6. Im also very concerned for my parents (Clacton_Gaz) who now live on a mobile home site, which in 1987 was scene of devastation.
  7. Hello all, 1st post since beginning of the year. Ive just noticed how at 3am tomorrow the temp will be around 16 degrees, My daughter works in Turkey and its down to 9 degrees overnight. Sun is out here and its great day for the washing, blowing around but needing double pegging lol.
  8. Ok I don't really want snow however I've just found out football match is still on tomorrow morning 10am kick off for my son - soooooo chuck it down please tonight, then dissapeared lunch time thank you mr weather
  9. Totally hacked off with this sort of weather I'm all for snow if its actually gonna impress but this sort of drivvle annoys me - another couple days of no earning money - I could tolerate if it meant a proper snow day but totalling up near on 6 weeks of no income from dec to date is no joke!!!! Enjoy those who have proper snow though and sympathy to those whom also lose money on days like this!
  10. And here we are again!!!! ive probably spent more time talking snow this winter than anything else I've driven myself and anyone within earshot crazy talking about the white stuff I've lost FB friends where I think I've bored them to death - not everyone has the same passion for weather it seems so if its gonna happen then let it chuck it down trap us indoors for 24 hours then get the hell outta here until January 2014!!
  11. Looking outside its like nothing has ever happened the sun is warm through the French doors and I could quite easily drift off to sleep after two nights of jumping up every couple hours too check the lamposts! All virtually gone from the ground now and car read 6 degrees when driving home from the gym an hour ago!!! OH is now washing both car and van as they both white with salt - business will boom for him soon (own valeting business). Anyway some fantastic piccies I love looking at them and have shared a couple on my FB (hope u don't mind) many thanks to the regulars who post such great information and keep us updated with their knowledge that I am able to forward on to friends and work colleague - I'm known as weather girl chelle to most now
