  1. Sure. Mrs SS just has a nice Cannon; really does a lot of work for you if you want it to as well. Takes cracking pics, even on high zoom if you are steady. It's just she acts like she owns it. Which i suppose she does as it's hers...
  2. Utterly stunning morning here. Winter may be over, but a lovely mist in the valleys + frost morning. Was taking the wee yin to Stowe for a party and just wow up the back. Sadly only armed with phone which struggles in terms of focus on landscape shots. Some you have to make small to sharpen enough to look at. Think I need to keep Mrs SS's snazy SLR thingy in my car at all times. --- EDIT On going back to get Mini Miss SS, took the better half's cannon and got a few snaps of sun down, but the battery was running low.
  3. Grabbed a few snaps when out and about today; fields in front of the house and up in the hills behind looking towards the Eildon Hills and also south to the Cheviots in the far distance. Remains of some fair sized drifts at the side of the back roads. Bonnie Scotland is a well deserved title on a day like this.
  4. You are missing a big streamer developing dude! It is actually turning white outside LOL.
  5. Snow shower here at Riccarton, W. Embra. What are the chances of that! 101_North might even be getting a few flakes.
  6. 2-3cm of snow here overnight off that band. Above zero now looking outside, but not much and cover holding well, even on the road.
  7. Mrs SS is reporting 3-4 cm of snaw at the house. And there's naff all here at work, W. Embra.
  8. Well, a reasonable dusting here and snowing moderately at the moment. The morn looks like my best bet, yet I need to head to Edinburgh to work.
  9. Nae worries. Shouldn't have read about Trumps speech while waiting on snaw. Another shower passing through here. With luck I may have a dusting by the morn.
  10. Jeez. We can't even laugh in the face of adversity these days? My friends and colleagues of 20 years wouldnt find it offensive; sorry that you did. I'm quite aware their religion is not a nationality and my wife's one of those 'furriner migrants' the Mail likes to blame for stuff. We all make light of bigots like I was impersonating as best we can. Anyway, returning to the snow.
  11. So far we've had one solitary snaw shower. Was a nice enough one, but 10 mins of light snaw just doesn't cut the mustard. On the longer term outlook, 12z ecm looking very blocked again.
  12. Light snaw at Fort SS. Nae power still so can't even get the garden halogen on tae assess further.
  13. Power off here until midnight or so while the finish reattaching the cable to pylons etc. Mrs SS mobile upstairs at the windae tae catch the slimmest of occasional signal acting as WiFi hub. Just enough for radar and NW.
  14. Ach it's ok, I'm at work, W. Edinburgh. It's Mrs SS who's stuck at home withoot any power, so like away.
  15. Nae power at Fort SS while they take away that fallen tree. Landed on the line that goes to the cottages.
  16. #snawbag victim EDIT ok, Bridge lorry more dramatic
  17. I'll take that. Can some be thundersnaw please? ---- SS checking in anyway; word is there be some snaw a comin. Certainly blawy oot the now. Euro 4 looking tasty for the morn onwards . Definitely time tae dust aff the old ramp. Been a while since its seen use.
  18. Happy new year kilters. Hope everyone had a good hogmanay and heads not too sore the morn. Lovely clear winter morning here after a frost. Went for a walk with family and dugs at Scott's View and the Wallace statue. Timed it well as that's the showers started now.
  19. I liked this bit too: UK Outlook for Wednesday 4 Jan 2017 to Friday 13 Jan 2017: Wednesday will be mostly cloudy across the UK, with patchy light rain and drizzle at times, mainly over hills and coasts in the north and west, whilst mostly dry elsewhere. Rain will be moving south-eastwards on Thursday, introducing brighter and colder conditions, with some wintry showers across the far north, these extending southwards. A colder north to north-easterly is likely to become established from Friday onwards, with frequent wintry showers across northern and eastern parts of the UK, particularly down the North Sea coasts. However, there will be a good deal of dry and sunny weather elsewhere. Some cold and clear nights, with widespread frost and the risk of icy patches. Some cloudier, milder interludes are possible at times, particularly in the west. Temperatures generally below the average throughout. Updated at: 1302 on Fri 30 Dec 2016
  20. Wee drive up to Dalnahaitnach at the head of the Dulnain Valley. Really nice and calm / crisp / sunny until a squall comes through; in minutes it's high winds and blizzard conditions. Nokians get the thumbs up for their first proper snow test. EDIT just added a photo of Carrbridge village. Really coming down at the moment. Van had slid off the road on the way to Aviemore.
  21. Aye, white boxing day here. Good couple of cms. Blawin a hoolie tae. Going to Aviemore, so shall try and make some stops for snaps if I don't get blown away.
  22. Ho ho ho. Wild here in the spey Valley. Some very strong gusts at times. Just been in Aviemore and saw a great full rainbow. Phone and my poor photography skills doesn't do it justice. Couldnae get it in one shot either; too close to the pot of gold...
  23. Aye, have a good one kilters. May santa be good to all.
