    Think the possible streamer might pass to the north of preston unless im reading it wrong. It looks like stuff is starting to shift northwards.

    Looking at the radar there does seem to be a line of cloud headin on a se direction looks like it will hit us shortly....could do with being a little more south. Looking behind it there does seem to be alot more on its way. Wether it reaches us or not is a different matter.

    Keeping an eye on that clump of cloud that has aligned perfectly nw-se it could feed through the gap between scotland and ireland staying over the irish see and make landfall some time this evening what you rekon?

    Judging by the graphic looks like every wehere from the mersey estry - spelt wrong, east to the pennines and upto preston has a white blob sat on it from about miday till tonight. I say looks because im in work and looked at it from distance. then tomorrow we have more snow. Heard the forcaster say 10-15 cm with 20cm on higher ground.

    With the flow currently NW over the irish sea wouldnt we kind of get lake effect snow?

    Just drove to Irlam from Ashton clockwise ont he M60 past trafford park etc. Its down to 1 lane somtimes 2 and if u have big steal Balls then u can use the 3rd lane. Extremly Icey out there. The rain from lastnight has defo frozen under the snow cover. Be very very careful if your driving in this today. I had several moments ont he way in and ill have to make the return trip later today. None of the main raods on my route out of ahston and onto the M60 had been gritted 10mph jobbie

    Just watched the BBC forcast on the site and all i can see is BRING IT!!!

    Holy Moly its beltin it down and sticking!!!! Just hope it stays on long enough to stay for more than an hour or too with the ground being wet

    Falling quite heavy here too. I fear its all in vein now though as theres hardly any precip now, grounds to wet for it to stick. Non even me thinks

    Snowing here now....well i say snow its floating about in the breeze auite readily so its not the wet heavy stuff. How long it lasts Scrub that there rain in this too

    Really quite anoying now. The NW snow sheild seems to be kicking in. As its moving south its also getting shunted east. On top of that the warm sector is comming into play. At this rate there wont be any snow tonight

    Is it snowing up ahston-under-lyne way?? Quite a good snow shower here in irlma at the mo has been comming down for about the last 20 mins woo 100 posts!!!! Starting to ease now. Sun will be out and that will be the acid test.

    TWS on model discussion thread rekons the warm sector is only the front edge of the front rest is snow. I hope he is right.

    Ha ha yeh just noticed your location. I work for Carphone north bank ind estate. Just got sunny here now. Looking north from here seems to be some snow up there.
