  1. Karyo which side of manchester are you? ..im east ish. in Dukinfield
  2. Can see more clouds incomming in dukinfield. Can see right out over manchester near enough and can see them stretching out towards winter hill.
  3. Looking at this http://www.raintoday.co.uk/ the showers seem to be dying out as the reach the east coast then as they start to rise up over the penines the prep up abit.
  4. Snow showers in Dukinfield, hyde and stockport. Settling too. If this keeps up with the showers then by morning we could be in for a supprise.
  5. In dukinfield can see some rather large white fluffy clouds rolling of the tops albeit broken cloud but it is reaching this far. Just wonder if they will snow or not.
  6. Well GP just posted on the model thread and its looking increasingly likley this cold spell is going to be sticking around
  7. Its funny i was watching bbc news 24 in bed last night about 1am the graphic was showing snow for here and a weather warning for thursday night. If you look at it today its not even showing rain for the same period what the elle is happening there its less than 48hrs away and its completly different. Still sunday looking like a good day.
  8. Was kinda hoping for more than 5cm . I know it sounds abit downbeat but with current synoptics etc i was thinking we might be getting more than that?? Am i wrong to assume that or can we really only expect upto 5cm by sunday??
  9. Crikey big turn around on the models now. If we take what the ECM and GFS 12z runs are showing now, would we be in for heavy snow or just marginal snow.?
  10. Judging by METO Friday night will be the coldest night with -3 then 6c by Sat day and then 5c By Sat night. If its wrong then good but if not then thats a let down considering what the models have been feeding us recently dont u think? Dont get me wrong anything is better then the SW's we have been getting but still to be consistantly showing cold or even very cold only for the METO to be right.........
  11. Yet another let down for the north west. 2 weather types effect us here......rain and wind with rain and nothing else. I really cannot believe it. Every where else is getting sub zero and snow and what do we get 5c and fing rain. This is sooo depressing i just wanna scream!!!!
  12. Thanks SC. There is alot of hype about this evening ECM. From what i can gather were getting it from all directions...im just worried that we end up with nowt again.
  13. I know this might be a big ask of some of the more experienced people on here but im getting lost ont he mdoel thread. From what i can gather the ecm is showing some impressive outputs that, if they were to be right, would mean alot of snow. My question is, is the snow going to come from the expected northerly for us in this region or is it comming from else where. I realise that the eastrely thats on its way probably wouldnt deliver much. Im hoping that it will at least bring sub zero temps day/night so that if and when the northerly does arrive... happy days. Has the northerly been upgraded on the ECM?
  14. LOL the weather likened to a cheese But still more than likley right.
  15. Well after reading many a post it would seem that this northerly may well indeed pay off for the north west?? Here's hoping
  16. Can any1 give me an idea of when to expect snow in the manchester area?? WIll it be from this easterly or from the northerly. Will it be heavy?? I have a few people i need to take care of if this cold weather does come.
  17. Getting sick of wading through "downgrade" posts just becuase it isnt cold enough in the SE. Its been mentioned many times before. Try living up manchester way the past few years while those in the SE enjoyed the fun From what i have seen there is no downgrade, yeh so the easterly may not freeze you where you stand but hey ure gonna get a hell of a lot more than those in the west/North West difference being you dont see many people living up this way behaving like spoilt brats on the forums. For those that did actually bother looking at the models post 48hrs you may have noticed that rather interesting low comming down from the north, if i read that right and judging by some posts about it this could pay off big time for EVERYONE. So please before stating that the next model run is a downgrade after 2 mins of it starting (noticed a few doing that) wait till it finishes look at the bigger picture and make a more informed response to it. It used to make me laugh, then it got tedious....now it just infuriates me.
  18. Will it show in manchester specificly Dukinfield
  19. Ha sat in work in irlam near manchester 2 mintues ago clear blue sky now fog and no sky
  20. Can some of you clarify this for me please. I have heard from various sources that when North America get a big freeze on we generally get the same weather system later down the line?? Is this true?? And if it is to what extent i.e 90% of the time or 0.00000001% of the time.
  21. Hmm tuesday got me at 85% chance of snow all day....
  22. TWS - any 1 of those 3 looking likley this time round?? Im still working out what those yellows and blues mean on the models he he he Yeh im a newbie
  23. Ha ha you know im having a laugh neil, it does get a bit tedious though when every one is banging on about easterlies etc etc as most often than not north and west areas get little from it apart from the cold. I was supprised to see that northern and into N.Ireland areas are now looking likley to get a pasting too. But what i would really really love to see is the whole country white.
  24. LOL just because it isnt looking so rosey for the south now its a downgrade :w00t: Looking good for us up north though Some people need to remember that england doesnt stop at brimingham. Overall its still looking good for the uk as a whole though dont u think?
