I think both of you have missed bish point... if that rain band sliding south today was snow, we in the midlands would have missed out. hence the bloodbath comment.
I am hoping we don't get a channel low.... nothing worse to see a very heavy band of snow stall 8 miles to your south, Bedford, Milton Keynes 30cm, Northampton nowt..
i was watching the radar back in Feb. 09.. was going to call it a night when all of a sudden the precip started to intensify...BOOM. unbelievable !

i think we could be all in for a surprise.. evaporated cooling, etc. that's what happened here in feb 09. 7 inches fell in 3 hours. TETIS had the photos as his signature if you remember.
Agree 100% with that... had plenty of very good snow events in Bolton from a N/Wly. .Down here in Northampton, we just don't benefit from a Cheshire gap set-up.
I've tried to avoid being negative so far but I'm very close to throwing the towel in. that sodding PV just does not want to shift, and that slug to the south west is a season ticket holder this winter.
