  1. Moderate snow in york and settling on the road and cars, not so much on the grass.
  2. Yeah! its nothing spectacular and its not laying but its still snow!
  3. Just bought the NW radar for a month so probably cursed any cold spell! There seems to be a reasonable clump heading toards York but keeps flipping between snow and sleet. Beautiful sunshine at the moment though.
  4. No real snow in york. There appears to have been a very light dusting overnight but its gone now. Just to get something off my chest regarding the national weather forecasts. Is anyone else from this region really confused as to where we are in the forecasts? Are we 'north'? 'central'? Do the forecasts for the 'east' apply to the east coast? You have to really listen to whethter they say UK or england because we are central uk but nothern england - but we aren't really northern england either - that's northumberland. I don't know it baffles me. For Linton the MetO there said a day today much like yesterday bright and cold.
  5. Thanks Joggs will keep fingers crossed.
  6. At work so got no radar (no Wifi and work pc blocks Flash) is there anything inbound for Linton/York please?
  7. 15 minutes of snow in Strenny! Hurrah! Icing sugar dusting over everything. Happy now.
  8. Yorkshire is such a big county though... I'd be surprised if we see any snow in either of my locations from tonights episode or later in the week. I fear for the recycling on thursday morning!
  9. Well, I've been measuring the severity of the winter by the number of cars in the deep ditch on the back road into Shipton-by-Benningbrough. Not as scientific as other methods perhaps but there were none last year. Already seen one on my way into work Sunday night... Occupants out safely luckily as it's a deep ditch. What will the rest of winter bring?
  10. All the way to York would be a good start! Though I suspect our lack of elevation will get us again...
  11. Moderate rain in york and at 20m asl i think that's all it will be. Not too bothered though after 1st home win of the season!
  12. Tried to post a picture but the internet defeated me... must get one of my kids to help me! York is fine! at least the north bit..
  13. Without trying to make you insanely jealous here is the view of the extensive snow cover in my back garden... It would be interesting to see how abrupt the snow line was. Is there anyone on here from Selby or Tadcaster or Wetherby?
  14. Does Lewis from Hull still post on here. Haven't noticed him for ages or does he have another username. He was quite prolific a few winters ago? I liked his posts as they always seemed to ramp a little bit!
  15. Yes, you're right YS i am just a bit negative. I will certainly remember the late Jan sat night snowfall (was it the 28th?) as i was with the cubs walking around Snowball Plantation. It was amazing in the trees in with only torches to mark the swirling snow. Here's hoping for something unexpected... if that isn't an oxymoron...
  16. Well good luck to all of you in the South of the region but i can't see this amounting to much for York - it's been a rather poor winter (and spring!) for snow really. Our lack of elevation defeats us. I promise not to moan though, even though the thought of you getting 30 - 40 cms makes me a smidgeon jealous...
  17. Incredible burst for last 40 minutes has laid on grass rooves and the (ungritted) close.
  18. Nothing in York either... Was looking forward to an interesting drive to work tomorrow. oh well
  19. Please stop posting like this... It's making me very depressed. Someone on the model thread has taken a punt for 3-7th of Feb for the next cold injection. Here's hoping.
  20. Schnizzle for the last hour and a half at Linton in the Vale of York has added 1mm to our existing 2cm. No wonder there aren't any other posters from York on here atm! They are drowning in misery. It must be the elevation. We need Yogg-Shoggoth to erupt from his home under Tang Hall and lift York up by 200m.
  21. Very fine, moderate snow at Linton, the Met office here say it will persist all day, maybe 2cm accumulation. Still like to have the snow levels of some of you guys though...
  22. I'm only going to moan about this once but the North of York has fared very poorly last night. Rain washed away at least 1cm which has been topped up by 2cm overnight. Drive to work from Strensall to Linton was a doddle even on the backroads. Right, moan over and i'm glad for all of you who did well. ant
