How’s it looking for snow on the Isle of Wight tomorrow now?? Any updates? 🤞🏼☃️☃️❄️🥶 -6 here this morn and lovely and frosty

I'd say a swing and a miss for us southerners. Latest models below:

  2. Evening all, been lurking around but the cold always brings me to share data!

Had the first snowfall in November since 2021 here (2010 before that!) Albeit with nothing settling, just flurries. Was going to be an ice day today, but that changed as we are now above freezing! Short and sweet as it were!

Currently raining, 0.2°C DP 0.5°C. Atlantic weather returns.

  3. Safe to say, down here we had snow falling during the early hours of yesterday morning, but it didn't last long or stick and the rain showed its hand! Just 3 miles up the road, there was snow everywhere at lunchtime... so marginal.

We held onto the cold air until this morning where we went from 1°C to 9°C in just a couple of hours. 22mm of rain in total over the past 2 days.

GFS 06z has decided not only to tease us with some back edge snowfall tomorrow morning, but SW areas appear to have a front coming in from the SW during the afternoon/evening. Uppers are much more supportive of snowfall across our area- one to watch?

Very heavy rain started at 2am here and turned to light rain around 7am, but heavy occasional showers are back now.
    45mm in total.

    Been a rainy period since Thursday;
    Thu 5mm, Fri 1mm, Sat 39mm, Sun 3mm

Be glad to see the back of it and liking the sunny forecasts.

71.2mm of rain fell yesterday morning between midnight and 9am here, just up the road from you. Really was torrential at times!

Bizarre radar signal today, almost didn't look real but reports now from Isle of Wight of flooded roads. Wider Yellow warning from MO now.

I noticed on the radar earlier as well that the starting point seemed to be right on the tip on the southernmost point of Isle of Wight. When I playback the sequences it was like a feed directly from that point , this would then stream over towards the east.
I was scratching my head thinking how can it just develop in one little spot and then feed all the way across.

Local topography around Ventnor must be to blame here. Perfectly aligned convergence zone must've set up here during this morning.

  7. So I think we just experienced a supercell here on the south coast. Constant lightning, terrifyingly loud thunder and biblical amounts of rainfall. The wind gusts reached 40mph at times... Just incredible!

Out the over side now and had 31mm of rain in 20 minutes. Crazy amounts that's have undoubtedly caused localised flooding.

Never seen such a strong thunderstorm in my life.
