  1. Most of the strongest winds a due after midnight, so given its summer and some people are camping, that is probably why they issued a yellow. I had to check twice, though... as right now, barely a breeze here!!
  2. Currently under this... Very heavy rainfall but surprisingly nothing electric! Currently 17.9°C. Rainfall rate 30mm/hr!
  3. Very heavy rain here in the last hour, we've had 17mm fall within that time. This has caused localised flooding on all the local roads. Not seen this much rain in a while! Currently 13.5°C with heavy rain. Total daily rainfall amount 33.9mm!
  4. Been raining here since 3pm yesterday, a total of 34mm since then. Currently raining, with a strong breeze developing from the SE. Temperature 15.3°C and beginning to rise quickly.
  5. Rise in temperature in the last 30 minutes here too, was down to -2.3°C and now is up to 0.5°C, appears steady now. No change in wind direction or cloud cover it seems.
  6. Has happened, I remember in 2013 there was a brief window of Southerly winds that brought showers in off The Channel. However, with Southerlies, normally comes mildier air. Worth noting that Northern France will have some decent snow cover from that band over there at the moment. Along with the overall cold continent, the SE'ly winds will be bitter this weekend.
  7. Didn't manage an ice day today, temperatures reached a dizzy high of 0.6°C. Awoke to a dusting of snow today, amazing to see it evaporate rather than melt. Wind suddenly strengthened around 2pm and changed to an Easterly, now feels bitter. Currently -1.0°C, DP -5.3°C Feels like -8.1°C.
  8. Update here, rain has stopped and winds have picked up from the NE. Currently 3.7°C, DP 3.0°C
  9. Beautiful day here today, spent it outside fitting a door... actually got slightly sunburnt?! Was crazy thinking tomorrow might not even be above freezing, or for the next 3 days at that fact! Expecting some snowfall here, dusting to maybe a few CMs at most using a blend of models. Rain so far with winds picking up from the NE. Currently 5.5°C, DP 3.4°C.
  10. Can join you there on the rain front. 85mm has fallen this month and still it falls. 2.6°C even with NE'ly winds. The air just not cold enough at the moment. With more rain due tomorrow night and Wednesday... flooding is becoming a concern over here too.
  11. Friday to Sunday rainfall totals came in at 114.4mm, with 56mm falling on Friday alone; making that the wettest day I've ever recorded locally. My October average is around 84mm over the past 10 years, with the nearest Met station recording an average of 89mm for the month of October. Not bad for 3 days work! Already warmer than the high yesterday with mainly sunny skies, which should help things begin to dry out. Currently 13.1°C with mostly sunny skies. Winds light from the NW. Soil moisture sensor up to 49%.
  12. 111.0mm of rain has fallen since Friday 12 am here. Highest rainfall event ever recorded at my station. Still going as we speak.
  13. Can confirm for locale that model us not far off. 89mm of rain has fallen since Thursday evening, with over 45mm falling overnight and this evening. No Met office amber here but flooding is minimal at the moment and rivers are doing well. Expect that to change tomorrow as that water comes off the South Downs overnight and into tomorrow.
  14. My goodness. I think 9900k should fit well with whatever you use your PC for!! (Sorry for the slow reply!)
  15. After a thundery start, it soon cleared up with sunny spells throughout the day, the high was 22.1°C. Currently 17.4°C, winds SW at 3 mph.
  16. A low of 14.9°C last night, making it the first comfortable night in over a week. Hearing 'shotgun' thunder this morning, from that cell just off the Coast if Selsey. Lightning maps doesn't appear to be picking up every strike, so likely an elevated storm. Currently 16.5°C, winds light and variable.
  17. Warm and close night once again, even though temperatures dipped to 17.6ºC, humidity is still high. Had some heavy rain for a time this morning, which has done the garden good! Not been watering to preserve water supplies over the past few days, so most welcome! Currently 20.7°C with cloudy skies. Temperature is increasing in the past hour.
  18. Its possible, but with elevated storms CC is more prominent. They are also the best to photograph, in my opinion!
  19. The storms developing over N Hampshire and into Wiltshire are mid level based storms or elevated, so are using the mid levels as their heat/energy source. So these could last quite some time and others could pop up almost anywhere. Calm and still here on the South Coast, managed to miss every storm by around 10 miles today, so the humidity is clinging on. Now 20.2°C with a slight breeze from the NW at 2mph. DP 17.7°C RH 84%.
  20. Hearing Southampton and Winchester getting a thunderstorm is painful, so close from to me haha! These storms are benefiting from a clear convergence line running from South London, through Hampshire, Dorset and into Devon. AROME predicted these near perfectly so far, so good model output there. Currently partly sunny here, temperatures are up and down with the sunshine, had a maximum of 28°C in the sunshine and feels like temperature of 31°C, so the heat is still around! Now 26.8°C, winds still variable.
  21. Partly sunny skies, temperature continuing to rise sharply. Currently 27.0°C, winds variable.
  22. Clouds shooting up here, even though its still overcast. Some echos appearing E of IOW too.
  23. Interesting developments here at the moment, its overcast here with medium level cloud, but some altocumulus is forming underneath. Temperature is steady at 25.5°C.
  24. Another warm night, but cooler than recent, with a low of 18.6°C Currently 26.1°C, and steady. Some cloud has moved up from the channel in the past hour, making it feel very oppressive. Dew Point sat at 20.4°C with RH at 65%. Wind E at 3mph.
  25. Can see flashes from that Somerset storms here. Really lighting up the sky at times! Was watching that MCS very closely this evening, however the energy continues to head towards Kent or stay over N France. Was looking into last year and didn't really find an answer as to why this keep occuring over the past few years. Looked at Azores high, sea surface temperatures, steering winds etc and couldn't come to an conclusion.
