  1. I see things are starting to kick off over Northern France and The Channel Islands...
  2. I was all around, mostly at Micks from around 8 till 11, then went around, returned to the hill around 12am. Was such a good sight, just couldn't leave! Sadly, I cannot make it to the hill this evening, but i'm sure others will be up there!
  3. Will do! Starting to brighten up here now, suns making an appearance now and again... starting to feel very humid again, temperature around 22c
  4. What a night! Was up Portsdown Hill near me till 3am this morning, just watching the main bulk move in (with quite a wind shear and some small rotating funnels) then smaller but more active sferics move across, was fantastic to watch! Heres for tonight!
  5. I remember that one! I went up to portsdown hill that day, what a show! Good Luck!
  6. Ah your in one of the best spots! I'm only a few miles away! Lets hope this all works out for us, and everyone else!
  7. Can see the towering clouds behind a darkening sky, anyone who is around where I am see this too? South West Direction... Looks fantastic!
  8. Shame I can't see any of the spectacular cloud formation as cloud has filled the whole sky in just over an hour, wind currently steady at 12mph, temperature 22.3c Here she comes!
  9. I think i'll be heading up to Portsdown Hill Tonight at some point, I'm that confident
  10. Agreed, I always use SAT 24 for incoming storms, very accurate! Lightning is not always the best, but it gives you a general idea! Doesn't seem to be showing up on mine today though...
  11. Same here, apart from the slight possibility of a rumble of thunder during these showers, I think its not worth the wait. But who knows? Something could spring up? ... Now I'm just being silly! Haha! Night all! Snowmania
  12. In the last 10 minutes or so, the Wind has really picked up, become quite gusty at times Currently NE at 15mph Gusting to around 25-30 at times
  13. The conditions aren't perfect to be honest, all I can see happening is maybe the odd rumble of thunder during the heavier bursts and thats if the line intensifies a little more. I think its not worth it i'm afraid, but time will tell!
  14. I'm not sure if its worth watching for, the aren't reporting any Sferics yet, but they are rapidly intensifying... The line of activity over the Extreme SW was Electrified about an hour ago, but no new strikes have shown up EDIT: Not sure but I have been using SAT24 recently, there strikes arent 100% accurate, but it was showing sferics half an hour ago http://www.sat24.com/
  15. I'm watching the ones in the channel very closely, they have infact intensified in the last few hours if i'm not mistaken
  16. No worries my friend, and like Sprites said, I have noticed over the past week the Sferics are playing up slightly, I use a few, been using blitzortung today, it needs a calibrate but its good enough... It seems an electric energy is dying a death now, but still keep an eye on that one... I must also say, those pictures look fantastic!
  17. Its heading N , NW'ly direction towards Cornwall
  18. Keep an eye on the convection just over the North West Coast of France, around Brest. This is rapidly intensifying
  19. Big drops of rain starting to hit the roof windows, just seems to be whats left of the earlier storms over Kent & Sussex channel coasts
  20. Yeah I saw that 'duo' flash, looked like it stretched right across the southern Sky! Sadly it was all over so quickly! Seems it just developed just for us
  21. Yeah its about 100 miles south of us yet, but the lastest meto update shows its starting to build again, Northern france seem to be reporting thunder. Our time shall come! Edit: And indeed it has, starting to become slightly strong
  22. Evening all, I'm located right on the coast near Portsmouth and Can currently see nothing but low level cloud as its rather misty out to sea. Humid and 18c
  23. Flakes getting bigger here too, ground a little wet for any laying, but just around freezing, so should'nt be long!
