    Light mixture here, but its not making a lot of progress towards the NE? Must be the strong E to SE wind stopping it in its tracks. Normally with this set up the Atlantic wins, but this time, the cold holds on!

    Nothing here yet, very windy though! Not sure whats happened down in Devon, but the A38 just after the M5 is very busy! EDIT: Lorry jack knifed vehicle and bad weather conditions are the problem, must be snowing over the hills around the Devon express way then .

    In my opinion, not an expert, the band of ppn will slowly push into the south as far as say west sussex and the midlands. Then stall then move right along the south coast before it fizzles out. Seems like a dream, but you never know! Look at the 20cm we were meant to get today...

    Indeed. I have been reading in the model thread that there is still no clue how far it would move in, but there is a strong signal that it would take its time or even stall just over us, or over the south west. Its all up in the clouds at the moment in terms of forecasting and more a nowcasting feature

    Here we still have quite a lot of snow lying, not much melting but temperatures did reach 1.5c today, currently 0.6c

    Now this was the setup that the met office were looking at for this morning, widespread light snow, with some moderate falls. About 20 hours late in my mind?

    Light rain here in the depths of Portsmouth, temperature has risen and is now 1c! I don't want my 6inches to melt!

    Yeah I've got the same conditions here! nearly 1c and light drizzle, but not a lot of melting going on, just snow falling off trees. I suspect that Ppn should ease off a little as the clearer skies are arriving over the Isle of white! So this should be, in my mind, a temporary event.

    Evening all Guys! Serious dumping here, never seen so much, got about 6inches here. The main brighton rail line runs along the back of my house, and they are broken down and have come to a stop! Its crazy!

    Quite surprising Models there Ian! All week it was just forcast the slip across the country moving in a south or south easterly direction. But now the West may see the most of the snow! I know its hard to forecast and may change, but seems reasonable to me! Thanks! It could all change at the last minute and everyone of us gets a heafty dumping

    Okay I do the others... Berkshire: 16cm Hampshire: 20cm Isle of Wight: 14cm Dorset: 22cm Bit high totals, but you never know! :huh:

    I've got a feeling the Isle of wight actually might get something special lets say :huh: So for the Isle of Wight i'll guess 14cm
