Temp was 13.8c at 08.00, tomorrow looks a lot better with a max of 8c and sunny.

Chucking it down with rain now after a morning of snow, a very grim day indeed
-
Snowing heavily and temp at 0.7c
-
Snowing moderately here with the temp steady at 0.9c
-
Still chucking it down, looks the A14 is a real mess with jackknifed lorries between the M1/M6 and A1 (Northants and Cambs sections)
Surprised its covering so well after a night of rain, but it is

Just been up town to the post office and its snowing very hard, got completely covered.
Back home with a cuppa now, just looked and the temp is 0.5c
-
Just checked the weather monitor and its a chilly -3.2c here
Very clear and icy, still got some residual snow and slush which is very tricky underfoot
Just checked Benson out of interest, -9c there, would hate the heating bills if I lived there
-
Light rain here, residual snow is very wet and melting, temp at 07.00 was 2.1c

Snowing hard here and the sky is full of it

Met Office graphics give us snow of varying degrees from 06.00 to 22.00

Wouldn’t it be nice if by some miracle every model run trended south west now and we nicked Sunday’s snow then Monday’s snow dumped on us too
Not really, why be greedy?

Drove back to St Ives from Huntingdon, been to the flicks to see Atomic Blonde, came out at about 3.15.
Surprised to see lightning and hear thunder, very dark clouds and belting down with rain.
All over very quickly with blue sky following on, knew I should have got the washing in before leaving home.
-
Not too bad here at all, just popped up town, its market day and fair few people about.
Sunny spells and breezy, good washing drying day and lot better than when I was in Merseyside last week (did see and hear a good thunderstorm last Wednesday night though)
Nipped over to Ely yesterday afternoon, very pleasant sat in the sun on the Maltings listening to the brass band
Think we are doing about the best over here in the East, always the driest area and living up to that reputation

On a short break sightseeing in Liverpool, impressive lightning, gusty wind and heavy rain where we are staying in Crosby

Hi all,
I'm watching this with special interest as my husband is due to drive to a work meeting in York tomorrow.
I was wondering why the Met office 'strongest winds' area on these maps doesn't match theAmber Warnings ? The worst winds seem to be further north than the amber warning area covers.
Keep safe all.
B.Guessing the map you have shown was before they updated the Amber Warning area further southwards this morning.
Only the very northern part of Cambs was highlighted before, now its the whole county that's covered

Or storm Dorothy as the weather presenter called it on Look East said this morning at 07.00.
Think she has seen the Wizard Of Oz too many times

Easterlies here are less than pleasant, flat as a pancake and nothing to stop them as they come straight from Russia, ice cream headache time.
Lets get winter over then can look forward to shorts and tee shirt time with longer days and more heat in the sun.
