I dont put my cats out at night as theres too many dangers, other cats fighting cars driving faster and I wouldnt put them out in the cold, could you not shut the cat in the porch with cosy bedding and shut the cat flap? you wouldnt have to worry then.
Sorry not weather related!!
My cats have always had curfews lol, when its dark they are in. Only have one now though but she is spoilt and sleeps on my bed all night in the cozy lol. I do think cats prefer warmth though, but as long as they are well and have a good coat (I mean fur not sheepskin lol) then should be ok.

I live in Magor south wales, my bedroom window looks directly across the channel straight to Portishead (I am first junction off new severn bridge) and I cant see any lights now at all over the channel as it is so misty, I confirm we have gone white over hear with heavy snow now settled on cars, pavements and roof tops, only a dusting though but it is still falling, hope it is working its way over to my homeland of bristol as we speak
-
Really lovely heavy snow falling, cars have gone white, but the pavements it is not sticking too. Really lovely to see it though and am alot happier now.
Pavements and roof tops now going white, even lovlier.
-
Have had very very very light precipitation of the white variety tonight but think I am going to stay in this club at least until I get something that actually sticks on surfaces. Fingers crossed we all get this in the next week too.

Heavy sleet....... pretty

YAYYYYYYYY can officially confirm I have the lovely white snow falling outside my window, gosh I love my lamppost, only light but just so happy I am now in the SNOW gang.
-
yehhhhhhhhh raining here in Magor lol, at least it is nice that it is consistent. SOOOOOOO happy that some of you are getting the white stuff, especially Jay on his birthday, enjoy guys and gals, you have all earnt it.

Well the radar says something is falling from the sky over my location......but nothing is outside!

Apparently, from more knowledgable than myself in the wales thread, it is evaporating before it hits the ground. ;-(

Having the feeling that no matter how much cold air we get, Snow is simply off the cards.
Even fridays even will sizzle out to nothing over the next few days, Just you watch. Same as this last fridays/saturdays did, Same as tonight and so will happen with mon, tues and wednesdays.
The models seem to push it further and further away each time until the warmth has come back.
I dont mean to be negative, It is however exactly how the models and what has happened, happened.
Lol, I have just posted virtually the same thing on the wales forum. We seem to have been waiting for weeks with great prospects, but when it gets down to the more reliable timeframe, it gets pushed further out. I know some lucky areas are going to get their snow fix and thats great, but to be honest, I just think we are going to be setting ourselves up for more dissappointments if we take the charts at face value and really am only now going to just believe it when i actually see it.
-
Well, I have to say, that to be honest I think that the best way really to handle all the talk of snow etc is to not get excited unless you see it falling from your lamppost. It feels like months now that cold and snow has been suggested to affect us at one point or another of course and to be honest, most of the time (imby ) it is always then progged to go further out to effect us and then just seems to never really happen. I have now this week at least found positives for it not snowing (I had to search hard as I am such a BIG kid and would secretly have loved to be polishing my sledge) and am going to focus on that to keep my feet firmly on the ground.

BBC just showed snow over Cardiff from 7pm till around 12am, could see a few inches maybe! Nice little upgrade and a nice birthday present
Happy birthday Jay, have a cracking one

A tweet from his holiness.
W COUNTRY Aside from a bit of temporary snow Sunday night, there's pretty good f'cast model agreement for dry, cold week ahead: hard frosts.
See you all next winter!
lol, if ONLY it were that simple though..... we all know we are going to be teased over the next week or two with the Pot of gold over the rainbow, which will lead us ALL to still be on here watching, lurking and hoping for the white stuff, opening a few cans of the cider (or other tipple for those who like a wee bevvy) in times of hope and need and then drinking even more when we get let down at the last minute and no matter how much we complain about it, we will also be back for more next winter. lol

Such as confusing picture I really want some snow. The uncertainty is driving me mad tho.
Me too.... It really is a big let down isn't it if it does not come off for us? we have really been waiting the last month or so with the prosepcts of it will most probably be great for us all and it looks as though some of us may not see anything apart from rain. Although, it is proving so hard of course for anyone to really predict, guess anything is possible really, the weather will do what the weather wants to do....... downbeat though and bit fed up now with it all lol.
-
So what is actually happening over the next few days. I'm a bit confused. I've got a really busy week in uni and I won't drive if the weather is bad. So I need to plan whether I'l be sending stuff over email etc. Are we getting disruptive snow down here by Monday morn? Realistically now.
well from what I am reading (although everyone has so many different opinions) is that it will be fine for us. Apparently bbc showing milder temps and rain for most of wales..... like i said, i could be wrong and it could change, I don't really think anyone knows to be honest.

Click on 'Precip Type' button - rest is self explanatory (see key)
Thank you.

Just treated myself to the net weather radar but am confuzzled lol. what colour is rain and what colour is snow please?
-
I would like to join the no snow club please as have not seen a flake or had a sniff of any of the amazing white fluffy stuff since 2010
;-( but I have to confess to really hoping and praying that my membership to the club may only be very very short lived....fingers crossed for us all

It was sleeting here earlier. Heavy rain too, almost got stuck in a flood that's been there for 3 weeks... Stupid of me to even think of driving through it.
Currently 2.3c here, dew point 3c.
Feeling rather subdued about the whole snow situation at the moment. Looking forward to the cold and ice though. Maybe I'll see some snow in London next weekend. If I can get there!
My sister lives in Glastonbury, I will eagerly watch for your posts this week to check if my nephew (who is as addicted to the snow as myself) will be a happy bunny. Good luck.

I would just love ONE big snow event so my son could really see what snow is like. I don't think he really believes me when I tell him about the days when I lived in Hanham and my dad had to dig us out of the house because of the amazing blizzards........ oh they were the days. fingers crossed though, even a couple of inches would be amazing, especially after last year as I did not see anything fall of the white nature, good luck everyone.
-
I love Andy, he is my buddy and I am English he means no harm.... anyway,,, talking of Andy, come on andy we need your snow input please as need your view on me in Magor lol,,,, you have not steared me wrong yet. It is getting a bit exciting though isn't it? i have to keep reminding myself not to though as I don't know if I can go through another let down (like most of us on here )..Ok will be getting in the provisions I think tommorow as I don't want to have a lamp post watch without any alcohol just in case the white stuff does not fall.......
-
WOW..... just came from the model thread..... very very interesting.
-
Very silly I know, but I feel Nervous about the weather, like i feel when i go to the dentist lol, I really really hope we get some snow as I think we all deserve to see the amazing white stuff (if snow floats your boat of course). Good luck everyone, I love the lamp watch postings that make the winter on here special.

OK - I will apologise for my anti-english rants - I'm sorry - I don't know all the english people that live the other side of the border - so it's unfair of me to be like that about all of them - all 57 million of them - but I'm afraid there are some fairly staunch types as well - I will leave it their - I have been warned today - to curb my anti-english feelings - again - I apologise for causing any offence to anyone - even the wonderful english people that choose to come and set up home in our wonderful country - as I said before - I love my country - and when others disrespect my country in alsorts of ways - or look down their nose at us in Wales - then I will bite back - but I will say sorry right now - I like this forum - I enjoy sharing my thoughts on the weather and other topics - so if I want to stay here - I'd better be on my best behaviour
It's Gonna Snow LOL
Andy I am English ;-( but I love everyone most of the time.
