People in the MOD thread really clinging on to the Mythical Beast from the East now posting from the lesser models. The main models are continuously delaying the cold coming in, everyday for the last week I've read the thread and they are talking about Day 10. It's like Groundhog day reading it. I really wished the theories would come true regarding all the 'Background signals' in our favour but looking at the main model runs it just doesn't look to be the case, same story every time. So if no cold snowy blast is coming, let's have some early spring dry warmth and not a middle ground where it is chilly or mild rain, i'm sick of this weather now. It's been a really poor depressing winter for this location again.

Yeh, i'm not so sure of this epic cold that's incoming following this SSW. I only take notice of a few posters in the MOD thread and there seems to be more and more caution as each day passes from them that's it's not going to go the way they initially thought it would. Hope i'm wrong and we get a load of snow, but i'm not getting my hopes up just yet. This week looks good for snow showers falling, more frequent and prolonged the further north you go. It'll be messy week though with max temps of 7 or 8 degrees any snow that has stuck will soon disappear in between showers. All we can do is wait and see but if we are not going to get this winter wonderland, i'd rather have a blast of early spring warmth and dry the garden out.

Looks like a cold dry day for us on the south west coast on Sunday which isn't a bad thing after all the rain coming in tomorrow but looks like the snow showers will come in from the mid Wales coast up moving to the southeast bypassing the south west quarter.

Wow, getting snow drifts against the fence now, most snow I've seen in years here. Better go and get some milk and bread.

I went to the snow today up the Black Mountains as the snow is not going to come to me.....or so I thought. It was amazing up there just to walk in the snow, still won't let myself believe we will have any snow on the south coast. Good luck to those further north and east, one day we will have a nationwide snow storm we can all enjoy. I hope.

okay, judging by that BBC forecast i wont hold my breath to see proper snow in south Carms then.

I will just be happy seeing snow falling from the sky, so just hoping we catch a shower or two this far west over the next 24 hours.

Don't get me wrong, i'm excited for Friday I've been counting down the days to see some snow falling, I've read these forums more than I've actually done work that I'm paid to do this week. It's just that i can see people getting excited and i'm pleased for them but I've been disappointed too many times when snow is in the forecast for this area. Where as mid and north Wales could have snow into next week, Friday into Saturday is what i can see us having here.

Can't wait to see some falling snow on Friday, not expecting much to stick on the south coast of Carms. I've kept an eye on the ensembles and they've been trending to less cold air with us being on the wrong side of the lows coming in imo. Will make the most of it on Friday, People further north and east may catch some snow though. Not getting carried away with the excitement of the model thread as they are imby posts for england mostly. So wish we could have the dumping GFS teased us with last week.

Thunderstorm here too, first flash was really bright with a loud clap of thunder straight after. Seems to be moving on now, it was also preceded by a heavy hail shower.

Hi, what a day. Just got back from Swansea, watching the game. Well done Swansea!!! Roads are fine now around Llanelli but no gritters have been around here. Roads still have plenty of snow in between the tramway lines. Love driving in the falling snow which was really heavy. Just read about that little girl, so sad thoughts are with her family. So seems like that's it for this part of Wales for now, though I didn't even know we were having any snow today so I'm happy I've had my fix of snow.

Well not all that great where I am, couple cm at best so had to go to work . Trimsaran though close by to me was a winter wonderland thick snow and the trees still coated, no thaw there. Trees were bowed down low to the road so had to dodge a few branches. A tree had also fallen blocking the road this morning. Altitude made all the difference here. Hope everyone else is enjoying the snow.

Shall be starting my trek to work now, doesn't look all that bad out there where I am. Have fun in the snow.

Good morning, finally snowing here. Got a covering on all surfaces. The man road is also slightly covered. Don't think it's enough to stop me from goin to work going by the radar.

In the last hour temp has dropped 0.8 degrees, now at 3.4 and dew point has dropped to 0.3. Surely can't be much longer now. Wind is really gusting now too.

Down to 3.9 and dew at 0.6, I think I'll watch an episode of whose line is it anyway and see if the temps improve further. Very light rain here now but quite windy now too.

We have a development here, temp has dropped for the first time this evening from 4.2 to 4.1. Aaaarrrrggggghhhhhh it's coming, I should really be sleeping now.

Still dry here at the mo temp currently stable at 4.2. I think I will have to call it a night just in case I have to go into work tomorrow, please let it snow by the time a wake up. Good Luck peeps.

Oooooohhhhhhhh, I have just seen a gritter lorry pass now with a big fat snow plough on it. Is this actually happening for here?!

This is great, I feel like it's Christmas Eve when I was a kid. Can't wait to see if I get any snow tomorrow morning, hoping for a snow day off work! Debating whether to stay up or wake up really early in the morning and watch the snow fall and hopefully build up. Currently stuck at 3.8 with dew point at -0.1.

Hi all, not long got home from Carmarthen and it was snowing quite a bit in Idole and Llandyfaelog, the grass verges had quite a bit stuck to them too. Just wet in Kidwelly though. Not expecting much here for Friday, snow to rain quite quickly I think. Hope I'm wrong though. Hope you easterners enjoy it all.

Oh well, Ffos Las has been cancelled today, the disappointment has already started for me before the front even comes in. Just waiting for the rain to come in now.
