  1. Yeh cross fingers, they had to cancel it a couple of years ago because it was covered in snow. It's the only fixture to be shown on channel 4 too I think so they really need it to go ahead this time.
  2. Hello, first post this winter on here. Loving this weather at the moment just need snow to come along, although I did slide on the way to work this morning despite the council caking the road in grit. I think they want to get rid of as much grit as they can as they havent needed it this year. Not something I want to repeat! What time is this rain or snow (hoping it's snow) coming in on Saturday? I'm going to the races at Ffos Las and would prefer it to be dry, wouldn't mind if it started to snow though. Let's hope the weather models keep backtracking.
  3. Not expecting anything much this far west in the next week, but i am hoping for some rogue flurries to come over, Americans struggling at the moment in Washington. http://www.trafficla.../WAS/index.html Click on the I395 at 14th under the google map.
  4. I'm liking the sound of that. I should be in bed, i've got work in the morning (maybe).
  5. Huge flakes coming down now, turned the road white in next to no time. I really wasn't expecting any snow tonight but Jackone has kept me up by saying earlier, that most of south Wales would get snow and how right you were. You should take over from Derek?
  6. Am i right in thinking this snow will be here for quite a while now. This is the best snow i've seen this winter so far and its come at the right time of day aswell everything is white apart from the road.
  7. Yep another shower moving in here now by the looks of it. I've got to say, i dont know if there are any posters from the Laugharne to Pendine general area, but it looks as if they are having plenty of snow from what i can see in the distance.
  8. Yep really haven't done well here today. Went to work this morning and then the snow moved in and I heard the roads were getting bad, i left it an hour or so and then decided to go home. It was slushy in Llanelli, I decided to take the Burry Port route instead of Trim and it just became less and less as I got home. Trimsaran looks as if they had quite a bit at the top though, it all seems to be higher ground that had it, oh well heres hoping we'l do better in the next round whenever that will be. Battleground scenario is the only answer i think.
  9. Any chance of that Northern Arm currently over North Wales being dragged over this far West later on, although it does look to be losing its intensity as it moves south.
  10. This shower is getting better, turning into another flurry but this time with smaller flakes, but because everything is either wet or slushy its just not sticking. The council have been rubbing it in aswell, seen them going through my street a couple of times now with a big snow plough on the front.
  11. Hi everyone, been very disapointing here today, had some heavy flurries but just not sticking here, just looked towards my west and there is snow edging closer and closer, hope we get some snow that will stick here. Edit - Oh well we got some Snizzle instead.
  12. Yes finally, we've got snow here now, rather light at the moment. Oh and Happy New Year to everyone.
  13. RainToday seem to be showing the radar over a longer period of time tonight, previously it was only showing the last half hour tonight is the last hour.
  14. Typical if these showers don't make any progress that means i would have missed the snow to the north, east, south and now the west. Is there some sort of snow shield surrounding this place or what, i know we are at sea level but so are many other places that had a good dumping. Oh well will have to wait until February or March normally have more of a chance then.
  15. Nothing here this morning apart from frost and ice. Llanelli was completely a different story, snow which had frozen on all roads, slid in a few places, 20mph all the way took me what seemed like an age to get to work. The conditions also causing lots of problems for my works, car park was coated with thick frozen hail/snow. Batch of rain/sleet/snow moving slowly over pembrokeshire at the mo.
  16. The snow showers that are currently showing over northern eire, are they likely to continue through the republic and then to us or more likely to fizzle out by the time they reach eastern ireland.
  17. Woke up to a light sprinkling, some big flakes though judging by what is still sitting on roofs, paths and cars, even on the road. Gritters couldn't have been out last night. Judging by the M4 camera the west had the snow with Pont Abraham worst affected but nothing to write home about. Here to hoping we get some beefy showers today, although looking at the radar nothing due for a good while yet.
  18. Oh there we are, thanks. You learn something every day.
  19. Rain quite heavy now, its going to be bad later on as this rain would have washed the salt thats on the roads away and then freeze much easier. Incidently, while i was lamp post watching, a thought popped into my head, Why are street lights orange?
  20. Well we've just had a few drops thats dampened things and now its just horrible drizzle now
  21. The rain will be moving in here at any moment now, just driven back home and my car was reading around 1.5 degrees here.
  22. This is what i've been using today to keep track, our part of the front is not looking good with rain on the front edge then turning to a sleety mix for n ireland
  23. The radar seems to be showing it turning readily to snow from Ammanford
  24. Still got frost here where the sun hasn't obliterated it, we always tend to be a little cooler than pembrey here so who knows. The cloud seems to be breaking up now so maybe tonight or tomorrow we'l see something. Edit - Ye, radar shows it just missing here to the north, Carmarthen had it then onto Ammanford
