  1. No don't ban the bbc - Derek's forecast earlier was cracking - snow all over the place and it's the only place that can tell me if my kids schools are closed - county council don't seem really interested in letting me know - about as interested as they are in gritting, truth be known.

We Welsh can rise above this marginalisation from the English once again!!

So- snow from sat onwards in cardiff - I know it's not a lot but .........

Reminds me of the joke - how do you eat an elephant?? - a little bit at a time!crazy.gif

  2. Andy and Adam, I'm in Englishman living in Wales - by choice! (and I love it) The only mistake I made moving from Southampton, was thinking I was going to see real snow here. Unfortunetly I didnt realise Milford Haven shares the same warm gulf stream as the Solent does and the location of both places at the head on a large estuary doesnt help either. wallbash.gif Mind you since Pembs is known as Little England beyond Wales, perhaps it's not really Wales whistling.gif

Anyway, whats the basic overall feeling or is it just too early to really call yet? Will we really see much in in West Wales? Or just a dusting?

As a side line I cannot believe how much people are panicking in the local supermarkets. Considering our location, and the rarity of "real" snow around here, people were today fighting in Asda Pembroke Dock for bags of frozen chips! and dont even ask for bread, milk or porridge oats and salt crazy.gif

Asda Cardiff bay - no salt left - will be putting dishwasher salt on my chips tonight!! huh.gif

  3. I'm actually worried lol for next week, snow sunday, sunday night, monday then tuesday night according to BBC... i have an A level exam wednesday.

There probably will be all sorts of contingency plans for getting staff in for you to do your exams no matter what. We have the same situation for students and we will have to sort something out , come what may!!

  4. And cold not going anywhere fast, only a over progrssive gfs has a mild spell set in. ECM and meto keep the cold going so any more snow should lie for a while.

Sunday and mondays event, too far for accurate prcipitation rates but i see in excess of 15cm i will explain why later when i do a full analysis.

    Yay - a forecaster!! rolleyes.gif

Have you seen the rainfall and temps on met office maps for Sunday/ Monday - looking good!!

Or is it - don't have much of a clue personally.

My brother says he can smell snow. What do you reckon?!

  6. Sai'n credu taw 'ny yw'r problem, Beth yw e ma pobl yn ofn cyffroi rhag ofn bod y gwaetha'n digwydd a h.y. dim eira. Bach o gam arwain baswn i'n ddweud.

I don't believe that's the problem,. What it is is that people are scared of getting excited incase it doesnt snow. A bit of umm what's the English word. Sods law? I don't know what it is help tongue.gif

    cam arwain - misleading?

Cytuno'n llwyr -ar ol cael ein gobeithion lan wythnos dwetha'

Completely agree - after gettting our hopes up last week

If you don't expect anything - everything is a pleasant surprise!!

  7. cc_confused.gif Cardiff got an inch (just). Went sledging this morning and by the time we got there the kids were mostly muddy slush/dead leaf sledging. We are definately due a dumping here. Getting very depressed. Please somebody say there are 6 inches on the way for me. Having said that - we have kids doing exams next week in school so don't really want the disruption - just the snow!!!!
