  1. Another one for confirming the popping up of showers in ipswich! Weve had very light snow fall on and off all day, but within the last 20 minutes or so it's started pepping you again! My son went on a walk earlier and decided on a spot of tractor watching in our local tescos!. Yes that is piles of snow he's sat on! IMG_8216.MP4
  2. Yup I honestly can't remember when it last snowed all day and night! Just been out and from a good spot in the garden I've measured 15cm perhaps a little bit more If we have much more I'll completely loose the ruler. Drifts well up to my knees!
  3. Just popped my curtains open - I live pretty much a Lampost! honestly didn't think it would still be going here tonight earlier this evening!. Lampost watch a go for tonight! Currently mini blizzards everytime the wind whips up! That 'Fuzziness' around the lamp? It's snow!
  4. Is Ipswich still in the firing line for any more of the streamers/snow bands?. Does anyone have a good radar link for me please?
  5. Second time my 10 year old has been out today to clear the driveway! Arguably a hell of a lot more snow this time that earlier on.... Went and measured from a undisturbed spot in the garden about an hour ago and we had reached 8.5cm in Kesgrave (just outside Ipswich). Slowing a little in intensity at the moment but we are still under the snow so more to come I would think. IMG_8155.MOV
  6. Child labour of snow clearing the driveway is under way - atleast I've got a happy 10 year old this morning Happy to loan him out to anyone local!
  7. One unimpressed cat here just outside Ipswich. Small/Medium size flakes coming down at a reasonable intensity wind is absolutely whipping up as well...
  8. Hello fellow Kesgravian! I'm also in Kesgrave Got a very eager 10 year old wanting to test his new sledge out. Hope we can get it to settle out there!.
  9. So 10 year old has woken up, and despite no ' winter wonderland' that he had hoped for he's still fairly positive he will see snow today. is it still set on? According to an app I'm at 1c here in Ipswich I only have apps to go on - can anyone assist me with a temperature and dew points please? ipswich (I'm about 4 miles outside of it) was right in the heart of the amber zone - really do hope it's still going to happen. read some posts that the snow/cold is delayed? What may have caused this? If true?
  10. Well the other half has just woken me up when he's come up to bed. Had a curtain twitch as he woke me up... almost 2am and nothing I'm about 4 miles outside of Ipswich. Please tell me it's still coming? I've got a 10 year old who's been eagerly watching the predicted amounts like a hawk over the last 24 hours or so and who thinks he will be going sledging and clearing the driveway with a shovel come Sunday morning!
  11. Hi very long time in posting but back again I am... Being just outside of Ipswich it looking like for me (and my very exicted 10 year old!) we are in the amber zone. my son is so exicted by the prospect he's made me get our snow shovel out from the deep depths of the shed incase he is needed to clear the road outside our house - bless him!
  12. Looking forward to Thursday.... can anyone help me out, is Thursday a daytime or evening time event?. its my son’s 8th birthday Thursday so wondering if I need to possible prepare myself for a non school day or if it will be ok until he’s home!. Haven’t broken it to him as yet that he may see snow on his birthday.
  13. Is this front due to stall? I supposed to be under this snowfall until 1am ish tonight but I can’t see it lasting that long!. Weve has fairly heavy tiny snow now for the last hour or so! Wouldn’t mind some slightly bigger flakes to see this spell off with a bang but I won’t complain
  14. Snow, albeit smallish flakes falling and blowing about in the wind.... kesgrave just outside Ipswich.
  15. Definatly! He was 2 when we last had some decent snowfall, I was the one building a snowman then and he watched me from the window lmao!. Think it will be the other way round tomorrow if we keep getting these beefy showers!.
  16. I’m super excited!. my son is as well, hopefully this is going to be a lovely little week of weather. He’s 7 so he will remember this :). Im secretly hoping for a snow day for him tomorrow!. I know I can hope. Im Kesgrave Just outside Ipswich BTW!.
  17. Hey another kesgravian!!!! Never did I think there would be someone else from Kesgrave here lmao!
  18. So I’ve finally got round to gathering my snow supplies.... last time it snowed enough to use a sledge properly it was March 2013 my son was two and used the little baby blue sledge. He spotted the red sledge this morning and his excact words were ‘Mummy there’s this large red circle thing in the shed what is it!... Hopefully next week he will get to enjoy it. The snow shovel has never been used and the cobwebs I have just removed were a testimony to that. The same with the grit, my mum gave them to me when she moved back is 2014!.
  19. Hellloooooo... Long time member very little poster... however here I am joining in in the run up to what could be a great week next week. i need to dig out the sledges from the shed, my son hasn’t really seen large snowfall, he’s just turned 7. Having missed the great winters of 2009/2010!. i have however purchased some proper snow boots! I don’t drive so I think (and hope!) they will be used next week!.
  20. Wet snow showers for the last 45 minutes or so here, some heavier promising bursts, just a shame it started off more 'rain' and the ground become wet'. Also guessing ground not chilled enough to actually settle. I'm guessing this will be about as good as it gets, but a nice surprise and will certainly have the other 4/5 year olds in my son's class exicted this morning!
  21. Current situation here appears to be snowing but not laying.... Apologies for photo on the wonk not sure how to adjust on phone
  22. Is this expected to hit ipswich for longer than the 4 minute snow shower we've just had?
  23. Thank you was looking forward to having a dusting in the morning shall retire to bed
