Just done a lamppost check (first time ever I've had one right outside my house) Few flakes blowing in the wind here in Ipswich

Really hoping we can get a snow fest in, my little boy is almost 2, and his 'first winter' (last years rubbish) was poop!, I've got a photo somewhere of my first winter and I'm waist deep in snow, I was born 1985 (March) so must have had a decent spot sometime that winter!. Would love to be able to christen our 'first garden' (we were in a flat last year) with a nice big snow man. Already warning family, particularly worried as have a grandad who is suffering from lung/throat cancer with only one working lung, so worried a cold snap will see his health detoriate further.... I'm a novice to charts etc but is the blue/pink just temperatures and not rainfall?!

Completely surprised, but we have big flakes of white stuff here in Ipswich.... All yesterday up until about 6pm nothing was mentioned on the BBC!, I fear the old OAPs will be moaning this morning!. Thank god for this site!, even though I was in the sleet/rain zone!.

Just checked, and all I've got for my neck of the woods is sleet, think we are just too coastal for this event

Just thought I should 'log in' for the winter been watching the last few days now!, exicted to see our first snow prospects as early on as poss tomorrow. Any word on next week yet? More than likely to change, I like to see snow mid December, not always up for it around Christmas as being a non driver I have to rely on lots of lifts!...

Anyone know what the snow risk is for Ipswich over night tomorrow??? After the weekend I was pretty much house bound (I have a little boy and getting anywhere with the buggy was a no go!) paths round this way are now getting manageable again (if I avoid the ice!), I really need to know what the chances are of the paths filling up again, so I can get food supply's etc in for me and little dude

Still coming down now here in Ipswich it's strange I live close to a very busy junction close to a an a road and it's earerly quite for a Saturday night!

Wish I knew Suffolk totals and that for Ipswich, I'm going to guess similar to Colchester as that's the closest lol!

Are the showers that the meto have on their radar for early am (tonight into tomorrow) hitting us as snow? I'm also somewhat concerned by the speed that the meto forecast had the snow coming in!, BBC has it all hitting me by 9pm but according to the meto it will be 3pm in the afternoon!!!

Will it not settle even on the wet ground if its pursistant for an hour or so?

Its snowing in Ipswich...which is a lovely surprise as I really didnt expect to see anything happen today, anybody know if its due to last, or is it just a freak shower?... The only complaint i have is that this is the 2nd time this week the snow machine has started quite literally as I step foot out of work lol!.....unequipt of course lol!

Hello all, Was not expecting to be reporting snow in Ipswich today, but it has now been failing, small flakes but fairly heavy for the last 40 odd minutes...

Yup quite heavy i believe....its hard to tell in the dark, but customers coming in to tonights show with snow covered coats!

Snowing again now quite heavily in Ipswich..... Can forsee ALOT of customers not being able to make todays shows at work.... OMGosh the wind just pepped up massively, causing mini blizzard like conditions......

Morning all, Well Ipswich certainly has had a bit of snow overnight, not sure on how much, but IMO it has now brought our overall level up to what we recieved in December.... Any ideas if this is the trend for today, are we still on for tonights/tomorrow basing?... Just wondering if public transport will be running this evening after work so i can get to my mums for some warmth, heating has packed up
