Appearing again to the North East

Fading away slowly but thats been the best display so far, for me anyway. Time for a Snickers and a nap and see if they return early morning.

Essex right now, low but bright evening display, some cloud here so can't see much.
Confirmed bit of cloud in the way but looking decent!

No chance over this way, still raining. Early night at least.
Good luck to anybody with clear skies.

A letterbox sized clearance has appeared to the North West. I’ll hang on for a bit

Looking reasonably clear at the moment so I’m gonna take my chances and head out for a bit

Lovely photo
That looks like great place to shoot.. the scenery that is, not the antisocial D#!@Heads
Sad to hear of your experience with this type of behaviour, but I also have the same problem.
The place I've been going for years has now turned into a meet-up area for boy/girl racers, loud music, drifting in the carpark littering all over the place, the list goes on! And it doesn't feel as safe as it once was
It's a real shame, and the police don't seem to care
Are you sure you aren’t in the same spot as me My next best location is about 40 minutes away (but completely people free!), which wouldn’t be too bad if these clouds were not so elusive.
The only time I’ve seen any police is when they were curious about what I was doing at 2am

It's been a painfully slow start this year so I'll take any kind of sighting now. The early morning display wasn't that great for me, but I don't really remember seeing them in the North West skies on both the evening and morning shows before (more NE in the morning)? Maybe I'm just getting old and forgetting previous events.
One shot from about 11:30ish
Think I might have to find a new viewing spot too. My favoured location is getting contaminated with cars parked up all night with music, headlights and engines running. Old man rant, I know.

Anyone else seen Sundays setup? My god that’s looking like a dangerous setup. Best chance of supercells since 2012 or more recently 2018? I would say so going by the current charts.
May the thunder gods not deliver a decaying MCS overnight on Saturday then

Forecasted clear skies from 22:00 - 04:00 over this way. Will be preparing the camera and snack bag later.

Nice one, thanks @Paul. Installing as a PWA still gets access to the GPS on an Android tablet, for example?

I have a couple of questions about the radar subscription that @Paul might be best to help with.
Are there any differences between the free version and the subscription, particulary with the zoom levels and how often your location can be updated? I noticed on Android and iOS that you cannot zoom in too far before the radar overlay is lost on the map, and also that my position can take a very long time to update - I can force quite the app and that will obviously update my position instantly, but isn't ideal.
Just some questions I had today whilst trying to navigate around some

Nearly retired after someone got a bioluminescence, aurora and NLC combo along the coast near Broadstairs a couple of days ago
Gonna pretend I didn't hear such a thing.

It looks like a estifex chart, may be this is an evolution on to another name?
I believe the tweet might be referring to the ESSL testbed, Estofex is voluntary but a lot of the same people are involved with ESSL.
