    There pepping up very quickly, I was watching a cell over Dorking which is no more than 5-6 miles away and it went from nothing to very heavy rain between there and here.

    Yep - lightning on it's southern edge off of the french coast.

    Tipping it down here in birmingham (colmore row) - roads are flooding and cracking rumbles of thunder what a day to come from Surrey to my HQ

    Are these going to hit the south-east corner (kent/sussex) are will it push up into surrey/south-london as well?

    Absolutely chucking it down here with very high winds which is litteraly screaming through the trees.

    I've just been taking a look through the charts this morning - - profess to not understanding them too much but checked out the cape and li which appear to be ok. Took a look at the shear charts and the deep layer shear very high for the (around the 30 mark). Is this going to make a big difference to any storms should they appear down here?

    I'm under the Reigate Cell - very dark bases with very little movement in them, rainfall peps up every now and again and though I saw a hail shaft at one point. Currently sat in my office and HUGE splodges of rain hitting the sky light - - don't think I'm going to get much done today if I keep nipping into the garden although one of the benefits of working from home

    Nothing much going on in Redhill now - it's probably going to explode just out of hearing distance just to annoy me I'm just getting a feeling right now that if something were to kick off here seems to be a pretty good location.

    I have an AM radio - what would be the best AM frequency to tune to if I wanted to listen out for sferics?

    Down in deepest darkest surrey I've taken a look outside and they are deff growing with dark bases popping up over and to the south of me.

    I've had a further 4 rumbles - really strange as the front of the storm is dead but it's perked up on its southern flank

    Keep thinking I've had the best of it and it drops another - - - no distance from me at all maybe - poss 1/2 mile. Tree in my garden is currently getting stripped of leaves

    One flash of lightning to my north and a big old rumble followed by around 5 mins of heavy hail and now heavy rain - - it might build some more so peeps to the south east of my like Tunbridge Wells and East Grinstead might get a bit more from it.

    Right - that that cell is approaching me now - I've been out and had a look - - on radar it's deff heading SEE but the the low level cloud overhead of me now is due NNE - - lot of lowering at the front as well as it approaching - hopefully it's a good sign at a fair old pace. Scratch that... BOOM --- whoo hoo

    I've got my eye on that cell to the east of bracknell now - - - - may just skim to the north of me but there looks to be another potent one behind it.
