True, I'd forgotten about that summer. All the other rotten ones had clouded by judgement!Indeed, it wasn't!
-
Goodness me it's miserable out there. Shades of 2012, just hope this doesn't turn into another summer to sit alongside 2007,08,09,10, 11 and 12

Annoyingly the nicest part of the day, feels lovely in the sun. Shame it's 8pm!

Can't beat a sweeping statement! Hilarious :)Fingers crossed for a good summer, I've been waiting for a decent one since 2006I'm very clear-cut on this - anything above 12C is excessive!! 11 days to go guys before that pivotal day... and ye I don't need reminding that the heat is still to come, but at least that's one fixed milestone that no wishful thinking's gonna change. BBQ's are for folk who have faulty cookers/ not paid the energy bill/ like salmonella/ blokes who want to display their inner machoness but otherwise wouldn't go within ten yards of the indoor cooker etc etc etc. And they stink the entire neighborhood out.

I've seen the Countryfile forecast for the week ahead, has to be said didn't look all that bad for the SE. Certainly better than we were experiencing last June
-
ECWMF0z very firm in its outlook, it wants any warmth gone and now..
Now? But that's ten days away
Certainly plenty of chopping and changing to come over the next few days
-
Afternoon all, glorious day again! Unfortunately I'm on the train heading into a late shift at the Beeb.
Is this the fourth weekend in a row where we've had great weather?
-
I'm looking forward to a couple of days off tomorrow and Friday, heading to the Cotswolds and then West Sussex to visit family, should be gorgeous conditions to relax in, in between changing nappies

Unfortunately another snippet from the summer forecast has already begun to ring true, and I fear theres plenty more on the way through the course of the summer
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-europe-22752544
The projected May rainfall anomaly:

The June anomaly:

And unfortunately, the July and August composites offer a similar prospect again. It could be a similar summer for the near continent to that of 2012 in the UK
SK
It does appear that those spots that have experienced heatwave conditions in recent summers are currently experiencing shocking amounts of rainfall.
Any of the more technical minded people able to explain what's causing that set-up over SE Germany/Czech Rep and Austria. What are the repercussions from the UK?

After a few days of excitement for warmth/sun lovers it's back to reality with a bump after reading this morning's comments.
This brief spell if decent weather looks like it's going to be followed by more dross.
Not sure I could cope with another soggy summer! Any glimpses of hope long term?

All in all a good start to summer coming up much better than 12 months ago
I can't remember what last June was like, think I may have blocked it from my memory.
Great to see a continuation of the positive charts this morning, there will be quite a turnaround in the South East from tomorrow after a dismal couple of days.

Think it's obvious that certain members are attempting to stir things up, as has been said before it's best to ignore the trolls

Am I allowed to get excited? Summer's arriving bang on schedule
@MattHugo81: Next week could well deliver the first proper sustained period of fine, settled and warm summer-like conditions so far this year. #staytuned
-
Matt Hugo just posted a positive tweet, looking good with jet stream kinking north of the UK
@MattHugo81: Increasingly fine and settled from this weekend onwards now looking likely, some information and details as to why... http://t.co/UJr1Zstc7O

Yep, that is a pain. Mods is there any way that can be avoided? I presume not? It's actually quite useless, I've got a few people on ignore on here and all their trolling posts get quoted so you see them anyway.
-
Just in case anyone has forgotten, personal jibe-posts will be deleted. Thank you!
If people get frustrated by others there is also the ignore function which can be useful.
Glad to see things looking more positive for this weekend and into next week

Goodness me its wet! Just walked to the station and still managed to get a few damp patches despite the large brolly!
It's really wet rain today
-
Just shows that at this time of year we don't need temps in the mid 20s to have a cracking day, if sat in the sun it is. strong and warm enough to make a day of 18/19oc feel superb.
I'm suitably full of BBQ and soaking up the last few rays of the day, working tomorrow at the Beeb on the late shift so enjoying this while I can
-
Morning all, what a glorious morning!
Promises to be a great day, BBQ lined up with beer can chicken.
-
So fed up with the weather I've just booked up two weeks in the South of France in early July.
Can't stand this weather, quite how the coldies on the model thread enjoy these conditions I really can't fathom?

Wow, what a lie in. I appear to have woken up in mid November!
Morning all, please can we have summer back, last seen many years ago.
