The no storms club 2024

As we have an 'event' unfolding today, thought it would be an idea to finally open the club for another year.

Lets hope it's not open for long!!!

I got the works last night and I fell asleep during it, storms are not as interesting as they used to be, even thunderstorms have become boring in the UK

We missed that one last night i was surprised how close it was I was hopeful for this evening but it looks grey and boring from my window in Bromham.

I actually can't believe it (well I can!) The one weekend I had to bring the kids to the ex's in Telford because she won't be back till late today, in Albrighton, where I live, they are having a lovely storm

Norwich area hasn't had any lightning and thunder since April 15th.

Absolute bugger all here yet again.

A much poorer start to the storm season around here this spring compared to 2023. However some decent convective skies, just non of them producing any lightning.

Only heart 1 loud-ish rumble at the end of March and even then the small core of that storm passed 2 miles to my west. I think there'll be more chances in the next week or 2 as it we continue to be under a low with fairly warm air, but we'll see if that will throw up any storms directly overhead.

Typically this weekend I was back at home in Albrighton after missing the storm at home last Sunday because i was in Telford.

Well Telford had a small storm Saturday  it comes to a thing when your 11 year old says you are cursed dad

We had a thunderstorm at some point during May, but that's about it.

Thunderstorms do seem to be on the decline. As a child they were almost always guaranteed after a hot spell during the summer, but these days you are very lucky to get one. And when we do get one, it is short lived.

Still haven't heard any thunder in the UK yet this year despite it being the end of July. I was out in the states for when the only thundery shower crossed this area early on in the summer.

Its that bad now i  get excited when someone put the bins out, over a year now without hearing thunder, not had a storm since i move to my new area, that's 2 years. Last proper storm was probably nearly 4 year ago now

August has begun and we still haven't had a single storm here! Truly shocking how bad this year has been. I was hoping today would bring the first storm of the year, but looking increasingly unlikely.
