Turning very cloudy now after a sunny morning which saw 26c by lunchtime. As at times last week there are some interesting cumulo style cloud shapes among the impending frontal cloud.

Wind gentle from the S. Temp now 24c. Lots of rain to come I think.

Well Highcliffe it is sunny inland 8)

Had some moderate showers this morning but it's been fine since 1300 ish and rather warm and humid. Hit 22c earlier and now is 20c.

Can see large CNB to the north where the lightning detector is showing some strikes but I don't think it's heading this way.

Well it's supposed to be 16 C here just now, but it feels more like 5 C, it's really cold, and the only thing stopping me from putting the radiator on is the fact that it's July, and tradition had instilled into me that you shouldn't need your heating on in July, but I tell you honestly, it's really cold here today!

I've never known a day like it, I've lost count how many showers there have been here today, they were absoloutely torrential and prolonged. Dissappointed though as only heard a distant rumble of thunder

Had a few showers as they developed late morning.

I'm now in an interesting situ as the largest clear slot on the satellite is just next to me but also I'm on the edge of a large shower which looking at the sferics gave some lightning near Bristol a little earlier.

It's also very windy as opposed to the forecast.

Temp 18c, reached 21 in the sunnier spell a few hours back.

It rained all day Monday, although at times it did ease. It became showery in the evening.

The same has happened today - rain all day from 7am, till around 5pm easing by around 2-3pm though. Theres now a few showers.

Its just been too wet.

Its strange to have two days of fairly persistant heavy rain, especially in july. Im not sure of the raifall totals, but i bet its beat those for the whole of June?

  • April 2024 - Was it that cold overall? A look at the statistics
