Does anyone remember the blizzard in early january 2001? I think it was localised to the central belt of scotland. I was in edinburgh at the time and we went to bed the night before at 11:00pm and there was nothing. when we woke up in the morning there was a foot of drifted snow! amazing! we built snow houses in our back garden. The weekend following we drove out to our friends who live near Biggar in the borders. Most roads had been cleared by then and piles of snow 6ft high lay beside the roads. They had had 2ft of snow which had then driffted causing drifts of 8ft!!

We had 17 hours of blizzards early february this year up in the pennines. I love snow but after that, the novelty started to wear off.But saying that,i hope we are in for a repeat performance this winter! :D
