I captured this brief tornado just West of north Platte, Nebraska on May 17th. this was a simple chase as far as forecasting goes in that we just followed the tripple point on radar ~ and waited for a cell to form on it.

I was shooting video at the time and this image was just grabbed from the Canon 10D in a spare moment. Video shows a funnel some 1/2 way to the groun on video ~ in fact our video was featured on the USA weather channel news !!!

Great photo Stu. North Platte was my ORIGINAL target area that day but as usual we always tried to position ourselves to the south of the target area (just my way of doing things). We saw the cell in the distance and decided to wait in our area?????

Ah well, we got pounded by major outflow winds and witnessed the formation of a severe squall line overhead - from a few small cu to continous explosive convective development.
